Gvardiol getting done in space yet again is worrying. Ake is such a rock.

Gvardiol was bought to play LEFT CENTRE BACK which is where he built his burgeoning reputation NOT Left back. IMO he's a far better central defender than Ake, who shone ALL last season at LEFT BACK. Why does STUBBORN Pep keep insisting on featuring them in different positions especially when prior to LaPorte falling out of favour he was rated well ahead of Ake who is limited at Centre back and vulnerable aerially? Well we cannot criticise such a record as Pep holds but I hope it's just while Josko gets used to City's system in his first season before eventually moving into CENTRAL DEFENCE!! We won't see the best of him until then IMO Also well done Matheus Nunes for stepping up and showing a glimpse of his quality. There's a top class CENTRAL MIDFIELDER to emerge All he needs is a decent run of games in a STRONG City side to show more

I think we can manage in the premier league still. But I'm worried when we get to UCL knockout games. Last season, Walker, Ake and Akanji were fantastic on the flanks when we needed to survive. Gvardiol meanwhile, I think he'd cost us a goal in each knockout match, he's beaten way too easily and he usually gets outmuscled too.

Julian has been a star striker in one of the most important clubs in America (today the 2nd biggest in terms of fans in the world), he is striker in the current world cup winner team and performs perfectly well in the current best club in the world, he is not bench material. If he actually goes back to being a backup I'd hope he would consider moving on.

I've been on the fence with Nunes, as it seemed like a strange one, but as mentioned and as I saw last night, he does have that Yaya-esque run down the middle style to him. This is a bit of a plus point as there has been many games where we've been too busy trying to pass it to the quick wingers, or trying to cleaverly pass it through the middle, and this has been picked up on by the opposition and they set themselves up to frustrate us and neigh-on park the bus; but we've lacked someone who's just going to go "eff it", and just take the ball and run right down the middle.
