Thanks for the video - glad to see your first hand experience with plasma 6. Seems that it is still a bit buggy at this stage. Hopefully the issues get fixed soon.

All in all doing fine. I try out MicroOS, looks like they've abandoned the entire X11 session there. Running very smooth today. Hope the mileage on TW will be the same. The last week I ran it on Arch and this looks to be even better. But that's my use case of course ;-) Good to be back with the Gecko.

Updated my system last night 3/13/24, not to get it but just doing updates and wham it was installed with no issues. I do have the default KDE launcher.

Plasma 6 on wayand runs nice with AMD. There are some bugs. Changing folder colors doesn't change them everywhere. Dolphin - works, Dolphin desktop - works, Dolphin icon on the bar with programs only standard blue color :( Also the gaming performance is a little worse but this is just my impression.

I don't think it's just your impression. 6.0.2 is supposed to fix that little regression

The next bug fix release is already out from kde. I think Tumbleweed will get it in a few days.

Sir I havent used wayland in a while. Can you cast/ screen share from chrome (google-meet) or zoom meeting with your wayland desktop?

It just hit for me and broke during installation (blackscreen, then login page from SDDM, when logging in the terminal is gone). Luckily no problem to roll-back.

hmmm. interesting, was looking forward to this, but it broke my system. ended up rolling back. several weird sudden crashes from x back to sddm login screen during zypper dup(688 items) eventually completed but plasma settings screen garbled, graphics like a checkerboard mix of light and dark , unusable. Been using Suse since 1990s, on and off, its got better and better over the years but disappointed by this, didnt expect to have this level of issues? maybe not ready?

yesterday night i did the big update on tumbleweed and it broke my system to the point that i was forced to distro hop

I rolled back and updated with a command line desktop interface instead of running the update while running plasma, and it worked

It broke my system... I had to use snapshot to take it back. Since then been afraid to try again.
