I think what a lot of people see with audio is '$100 per hour' missing out the 'per finished hour' bit... so when recording you need to do multiple takes, edit out clicks/coughs/etc, polish it up. Then there will also be revisions and retakes So 1 hour might actually take 5, 6, 7, 8 hours... so that $100 p/h is actually $10-20 p/h. Still a very fun side hustle though and it's a great idea for those with lovely voices (like yours) :)

I don't see how anyone apart from hardcore professionals make $400 ph. A rate of $100 pfh works out at around $25 ph.. Many of the books shown in the video are 'royalty share' which in most cases will be peanuts. Nobody is going to pay an amateur $400 ph to read books. ' .

The industry standard for finished hour is 200 for a professional. I could see maybe 400 for a named narrator.
