I feel like Keane was always slightly overshadowed by Coldplay to a certain extent (similar time and genre), but man, they have some really great songs! Love how they leave so much room in their songs for the bass to really come through. A lot of their songs are just piano led and not electric guitar led, makes a big difference.

Hi Keane, so I was doing my house chore today...vacuuming this week...we rotate chores in the house between 5 people...anyway...it's been years since I've heard this song...didn't hear it today, either, but it started playing in my head today (I'm 63, so I've lived through so many eras of what I consider rock music...there are so many different forms of it, so many variations, but "it's still rock and roll to me", ha!)...and I wasn't even getting the words at first...I've played and sung so many songs doing wine bar solo gigs, and have covered so many songs...and this one is no exception...but it has been so long that all I was getting at first was "dadadadadada I'm daaaa....ha! and then I got the "is it...", and was stuck...I went from Isn't it amazing...to what ever, and then "isn't it a wonder" ...and then I almost discounted "Is it any wonder" because of Styx' Too Much Time on My Hands...so I did a youtube search of 90's song that has "Is it any wonder" in it, and, even though this is a 2000"s song, it was the very first that came up. This band keeps achieving good results in spite of their shortages whose reasons are mainly the fact they have to play without a guitarist and the possibility of sending some different sounds by managing only synth and piano. I. . . love. . . this. . . song! I heard it many years ago playing overhead at a shopping mall many years ago but had no idea who or what. Great sounding feel good song. Then I heard it today in a bank in Cleveland May 2023. I quickly googled some lyrics into my phone before the song ended. . . and voila. . . Keane "Is It Any Wonder?" Thank you, Google.

This is such a significant song. And done so perfectly. It gets through to people who understand, but flies right over the heads of everyone else. This song gave me validation that I have never had before. Feeling like I’m the one in the wrong is my norm. You don’t know how much it means to me to know I’m not alone.

I've known this song for years, but it only just occurred to me to look up the lyrics, it's actually quite a miserable song. I like songs like that, like Old Town by Phil Lynott or Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People. Sad/dark songs, yet sound so upbeat & catchy.
