I wrote a story about a young couple that was separated by an arranged marriage, they planned on running away, but one of them backed out of their plan and started a family with the person they were forced into marrying. The other person still visits the garden where they used to meet up all the time, after 20 or so years, they cross paths at that garden. The married person’s spouse died of cancer that week, so they go to the garden to clear their head. That’s when this song would play. I’m deeply invested in this song because of that story I wrote

So, the first time I heard this, I knew. I knew it would have staying power, it would touch anyone, who really heard, in a deeply, meaningful way. At 53 years old, I still feel this. It's as powerful & as meaningful today, as it was the first time I heard it. Music, like this, that moves your mind, body, spirit & soul, needs to be shared, far & wide. It won't touch everyone in the same manner, some, well, some may not 'hear' it at all. That's ok, let's just continue to share this, with, everyone we know. 😊

Heard this back in the early 2000’s. Bought the cd. Years on, I listen to it with my now 15 year old daughter. As her mum we have grown very close through this horror. During this lockdown we have found so many special walks together that only we know. With our dog...... Talk about someware only we know.

I walked across an empty land I knew the pathway like the back of my hand I felt the earth beneath my feet Sat by the river and it made me complete Oh simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin I came across a fallen tree I felt the branches of it looking at me Is this the place we used to love? Is this the place that I've been dreaming of? Oh simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute, why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything So why don't we go somewhere only we know? Somewhere only we know Oh simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute, why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything So why don't we go? So why don't we go? Oh, this could be the end of everything So why don't we go somewhere only we know? Is this just me but I don’t interpret this song as a nostalgic song. I hear it in my head as a sort of a breakthrough in a relationship where you know it might not work long term but you’re just happy for the good moments that you’re currently having with the person you’re so madly in love with.

Keane are very underrated. I fell in love with their music almost instantly ..the very first time i listened to "Hopes and fears" i was stunned. i played it over and over again absorbing each track like a drug, but then "Iron sea" came along and put me on an altogether different level of enjoyment... Back in my Ska/2tone days, I would have gone to my grave swearing that Madness were the best british group ever.. followed closely by all those other groups around at the same time, Specials, selecter, bad manners, bodysnatchers, the beat, UB40, desmond dekker etc etc... But when keane came along,...all that changed.

This song resonates with some part of me thats felt hidden from me my whole life, something thats been missing. I think its that good feeling where everything in life feels tranquil, no reason to worry or to be sad. You're just you, and and thats a very beautiful thing by itself and not that many people seem to recognize, or have forgotten. The next day will be just as lovely as the ones that came before if you let them, these moments will become some of the fondest memories you'll look back on.

I stare at the stars, the pale moon, as a tear trickles down my cheek.. Fore I know once the sun wakes up, and the stars hide away, that looking at the night sky will be the only way to see you again.. "Why?.. Why must such sorrowful things happen to people with good intentions?" I say to myself "Sorrow happens to those with good pasts, because those people know how to handle sorrow" I hear a voice whisper in my ear "Never forget me, Nichole, never. If you don't let yourself forget me, I'll never be gone".. I love you James.. I just wish I could've gotten that through to you fast enough..
