When you are getting old and looking back, you realize things were simple back then, you wanted to embrace those times but you cannot get the time you already lost, everything is a memory now and you wanted to visit the place only you know and reminisce the memories you had in that place with those you loved deeply. Edit: the first time i have reached 1k likes, thanks.

Somewhere Only We Know Keane I walked across an empty land I knew the pathway like the back of my hand I felt the earth beneath my feet Sat by the river, and it made me complete Oh, simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old, and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin I came across a fallen tree I felt the branches of it looking at me Is this the place we used to love? Is this the place that I've been dreaming of? Oh, simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old, and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute, why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? This is the only song I ever burst into tears upon hearing for the first time. A haunting tune for what for me, was an extremely haunting time. Suffice to say, it had to do with a woman that contained everything I would have dared to ask GOD for. And it ended. And about one hour after I realized it truly was over, this song came on the radio. I remember thinking, "Someone out there knows how it goes". That was 15 years ago. And I dream about her, I think about her, every time I look at the digital clock it is her birthday....and there was a place somewhere only we knew.

Same, but for a man. About 18 years ago. He was my hs sweetheart & I thought the grass is greener. I still think about him but I'm happy in my life and happy for his life now but there will forever always be a connection with the person that you grew up with. A person you can finish each other's sentences. That is irreplaceable. Simple it was & why it meant so much.
@davidnavarro48213 жыл бұрын
This is so well written. I’ve been thinking randomly about this song and decided to relisten to it. The lyrics started to make sense for me as an invitation to an old lover to come back to a place only they know. I was thinking about this girl I hadn’t seen in years but that I still long for among others as if the song could be used as a way to ask for a first and probably last walk together. Broken couples have shared memories. Loners like me have only the bitterness and aching inside their broken and empty heart.

It's not by chance that you write "omg". What you feel is indeed thanks to God and His Holy Spirit as co-inspirers (with Keane) of this song; and as perpetuaters of the love and forgiveness and mercy that live (will live forever) in the words and music. A sad song that takes us higher and deeper into some kind of ecstasy. ONLY God can do that! And only he can defy Newton's laws to create more positive energy that you feel from this song, as do I and millions of others. Every love and blessing to you, Monique. I KNOW SO WELL the suffering you experience because of your daughter. I have been there. I know your pain and share it, and I KNOW Jesus has special love for us because we have to experience these things.

I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute, why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything So why don't we go somewhere only we know? Somewhere only we know Oh simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute, why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything So why don't we go? So why don't we go? Oh, this could be the end of everything So why don't we go somewhere only we know? Somewhere only we know Somewhere only we know

SOMEWHERE ONLY WE KNOW by KEANE I walked across an empty land I knew the pathway like the back of my hand I felt the earth beneath my feet Sat by the river and it made me complete Oh simple thing where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin I came across a fallen tree I felt the branches of it looking at me Is this the place we used to love? Is this the place that I've been dreaming of? Oh simple thing where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything So why don't we go Somewhere only we know? Somewhere only we know? Oh simple thing where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything So why don't we go? So why don't we go? Ah-ah-ah Ah-ah-ah This could be the end of everything So why don't we go Somewhere only we know? Somewhere only we know? Somewhere only we know?

Happy Birthday Hopes and Fears, 19 years ago you caught me and became part of me. I will always continue to pay my respects to them. This album is a masterpiece for the senses, it transports you to such unusual places, without a doubt it forces you to travel inside yourself, managing to be the representative of your essence. How can you not respect these artists with love?
