Have been familiar with this song for years. I'm reading a book about suicide at the moment called "Suicidal: Why We Kill Ourselves" by Jesse Bering, and in Chapter 5 (p. 132) the author shares writings from a girl named Vic who somewhat recently committed suicide. In a sort of ad-hoc will, Vic requested this song be played. The author only mentioned the title of the song. So I'm not 100% sure that this is the one she was referring to. But yet I am... Vic, I appreciate you bringing me back to this song. And to anyone who might be contemplating suicide, read the book. It's a rather good insight, and hopefully a rather good deterrant, too.

I liked the older version of this much more, the audio in this is great, but it loses that atmosphere that made me fall in love with this song, artist, and channel. I still love mahogany sessions, but I miss that genuine in the moment feel I used to get from the older videos. Before it felt like I was actually there, but now it just feels like I'm listening to any other song through the screen. I don't know I guess I miss the raw vulnerability I got in the older version, where it felt like I was listening to the artist as he was and how he hears the song. Still thank you for being an amazing channel!

Well in the title is written "remastered". This means the audio of this video was edited again. There can be a lot of reasons for this. But when u remaster a song u normaly want to improve the sound quality. It was not recorded in a studio so the mastering of the decibel of the loudest and lowest parts can be recalculated by a computer to give a better dynamic range of the sound. And of course noises around the musician from foreign sources (other people in the room - every backround noise - can be silenced when a track gets remastered.

I think you have to make a name for yourself in indie/folk music circles first. You may have never heard of the artists in these videos, but I'm pretty sure Mahogany picks them out because they're already established as being relevant acts within their own artistic circles. Ultimately, I don't think their goal is the same as your goal. Good luck though. I think you're more pop than Mahogany is, but you definitely have talent. Hope you do well.
