This song got me through when my newborn suffered a heart attack at birth and she had been fighting so hard but started to lose the battle. It was my way to process that if she needed to leave it was okay. We were blessed and she made a miraculous turn around and turns 10 this month. Now I pass this song 10 years later to my amazing step daughter, who just lost an amazing person in her life today. Sometimes songs create a space for things that would otherwise be too big to express. So grateful for this artist.

This song doesn't remind me of anyone but myself, when I'm at my worst, when I lay down in bed for hours staring at the ceiling, when I'm in class and my heart beats so fast I can't pay attention to what the teacher is saying, when my hands are shaking so much I don't know what to do, when I'm crying so hard I can barely breath, when I'm so sad so scared so confused. It also reminds me that I'm still alive and that I have to stay alive, it's never easy but I haven't given up yet.

The reason why I love Keaton, you can hear the life itself in his voice the pain, the relief and sorrow. He isn't singing "you can do it" instead of that this is a song about life "If you must die, die remembering your life, if you must live, just live ". He is definitely comforting right now..

This song pulled me through a fucking bad depression and pretty much saved my life. I can now finally listen to this song without breaking down. Thanks so much Keaton, you , unknowingly, meant the world to me! Edit: if you’re dealing with depression: Don’t give up. Find people to talk to. Let go of all shame and talk. I know the pain in opening up to people, but at least try.

A beautifully haunting song that evokes deep emotion within the heart and soul. Certain songs/artists just seem to have that special ability to make you fall silent and deep into thought about your life, the people, and things that are truly important. It causes you to reflect on the things that really matter as well as the regrets of things that you should or shouldn't have done during the brief time spent walking this earth. This is one of those songs imo.

Honestly what i adore most about this song is that if you scroll through the comments, how a simple song can make so many people sentimental of a sort or relating / making a connection to some point in their life, such as a newfound love, a broken heart, or just even the pain of a lost one. I find it utterly beautiful and breathtaking

I just hope that one day I can scroll down to the comment section of a Keaton Henson's music video and not see someone criticizing the fact that he makes his music with his heart and pours out his soul into it, without even regarding the fact that his music is genuine. And please note that I am not talking about opinions, everyone has their right to form an opinion about an artist, but this is basically saying he can't make "sad" music. Yes, he can. And it's beautiful.

It's amazing what it takes to open a person's eyes and bring them back to a reality. One person can affect you so much, and I am now realizing the thin line between love and hate. It's so unreal how heartless a person can be, but from the outside, they seem like the perfect person. It hurts; we're supposed to be real, not perfect, but being heartless isn't real.

If you must wait, Wait for them here in my arms as I shake If you must weep, Do it right here in my bed as I sleep If you must mourn, my love Mourn with the moon and the stars up above If you must mourn, Don't do it alone If you must leave, Leave as though fire burns under your feet If you must speak, Speak every word as though it were unique If you must die, sweetheart Die knowing your life was my life's best part And if you must die, Remember your life You are You are Oh, you are You are Oh If you must fight, Fight with yourself and your thoughts in the night If you must work, Work to leave some part of you on this earth If you must live, darling one, Just live Just live

I remember listening to Keaton after my first real break-up, it destroyed me, and I remember it was during finals, which totally made me question why exactly I'm still around on this planet, I went to bed 4 am if I ever did, I drank a ton of pills, and I didn't talk to anyone, I genuinely thought that this person I lost, was the first and the last, and I was bumbed out for months after, but eventually things died down, I decided to move on, or try my very best, and dismiss all emotions for my previous partner, I've been in a relationship with another person for the past few months now, and I really hope things will work out this time, and that I won't have to find myself back here, listening to this, and thinking of the things I did back then. I hope you're all doing great, and that you'll have fantastic lifes, that you'll meet amazing people who'll carry you through all of the hurdles this crazy rat-race of a life throws at us.

The guitar combined with the song itself reminds me so much of the video game The Last of Us.

it's really similar to the guitar in the actual game, and the lyrics fit the game really well, too

The song reminds me of my beloved ones ... My unborn child ... My unknown husband ... My mistakes in the past ... Me as a child ... Me wishing to be a child again ... Me thinking of humanity ... Spirits and souls ..

Hands down one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. Reminds me of some trying very difficult times me and my spouse just experienced with our daughter.

Wow. I can't believe I'm back here. I can't believe I ever forgot this artist and his songs. I used to listen to this when I was depressed in secondary school. Wow it's like I am being shown my old self. Life is so beautiful. I could cry knowing I used to listen to this and cry and wish to die. Now I work on being happy and appreciate my life. Even if I forget who I used to be, I'll never truly lose myself.

This sent me to a place where my recently deceased and or ascended twin brother Paul spoke to me softly. It touched me profoundly....what a reminder of how to say goodbye with the words: Mourn with the moon and the stars up above, which is what I've been doing. Beautiful!
