Going to try this one, although I definitely agree that Cookie Crisp was awesome in the 80s. Whatever changes they made (including the weird puffy shape) just seemed to ruin the cereal. Thanks for the great vid! Stay crunchy, Gabe!

Hey Gabe, thanks for the video. This has been a cereal I've passed up many times. Im not a chocolate cereal fan, but I have enjoyed Cookie Crisp in the past so maybe I will give it a try. I have good memories of Giggles cookies. My favorite Keebler cookie probably has to be Soft Batch. Growing up my brother and sister would microwave them just enough to get them warm and it was like eating a freshly baked cookie straight out of the oven.

Its weird, yesterday I just happened to pick a box of this very cereal to try it out. Funny thing is, as I was putting it into the cart your cereal time theme song popped into my head and made me laugh. Now that same cereal is this weeks video. I love this cereal. Hope it's not a limited release. One other keebler cookie I remember was I think a shortbread with a Hershey's kiss in the middle. Came in an individualy wrapped 4 pack. Think it was back in the early 90s maybe 1993?

We tried this one months ago and didn't like it. My son loves Cookie Crisp and we thought it would be similar. Something about this one didn't do it for us. We never finished the box, threw it away eventually. The chocolate tasted off, the cookies tasted stale. Maybe we got a bad box?

It's definitely an acquired taste, so I wouldn't be surprised if some people weren't fond of it. And I know what you mean about the cookies, some of them had that weird dry/stale taste for me too.

I don't need to repeat myself and say that i love your videos, but i just realized/discovered a reason for it . :D I love all the information about the history of the cereal and firm and all the facts about changing cereal and so on. Why? that's me. if you wouldn't deliver those information i would google myself and would eat a whole cereal box instead of just the bowl i always do while watching your videos or reading Dans (cerealously) videos :D btw: You mentioned a drastic change in cookie crisp's formula... not sure if i already asked this, but do you know what exactly they changed? I just wondered, 'cause since the EU and the US regulations and sources of cereal are somewhat different (i'm still sure that's the reason why our cereals don't have marbits in them) and i'm curious if your cookie crisp ingredients are more likely to resemble the current US cookie crisp or the older ones :)

Here's a little image I made of the differences between the recipes from 1984 to 1991 to today. You can see the slight changes. One of the most interesting is the 1984 version from Ralston (that I loved) from back in the day had Dried Apples in the ingredients. i.imgur.com/te5mTgz.jpg

OMG! You're amazing Gabe! Thanks! 1. Yeah it's quite interesting, that there were dried apple pieces mixed into the cookie batter. Seems like an idea for real chocolate chip cookies, no? ;) 2. As i thought.... they went from a bit corn to full corn and the "oat hate" is again apparent... 3. Hmm, that would be fun. But I feel like no publisher would want it. It would be a really hard sell because the market for that is so small. I mean look at my channel. I've been making videos for three years now and have less than 10k subscribers. So cereal isn't exactly a hot button topic that lots of people care about. But it would definitely be a fun project.

I went in with high expectations for this cereal and while it was good the cookie pieces turn to mush too fast. It was sort of gross like dipping cookies in milk and then drinking the milk with all the mushy stuff at the bottom.
