Hi! i'm a Jewish boy from Israel and i would like to explain some things in the video from my knowledge of Judaism and Hebrew. 1) Azazel in Hebrew: (עזאזל) is 100% real place and probably also the devil / demon. the place is near Jerusalem and The ultra-Orthodox religious every Yom Kipur (יום כיפור translate: the forgiven day) go to Azazel mountain and throw a lamb from their to sacrifice to the devil. BUT literally no one believe that Azazel is a goat 🤨 . The sentence: לך לעזאזל (go to Azazel) its a very bad word in Hebrew And that means: please die or, go to hell or something like that, the sentence: שעיר לעזאזל (a lamb to Azazel) means: The one who is about to be punished so that the rest will be free or the one who blames him for the sin of others. just like the lamb in Yom Kipur! oh Azazel is also f*k but not really its somewhere between f*k and sh*t 2) I'm speaking Hebrew pretty well (unlike English) and iv'e never heard that Azazel is scape goat or the strength of god those word not even close! maybe its in Aramit (the language between Hebrew and Arabic) but i don't really know, and nobody using this language any more... 3) The book of Enoch its not consider a religion book and even religion Jews will tell you that you are destroying the name of God if you reading those books! this is why 99% of Jews people never heard about those stories even if you heard about the book of enoch MORE) Hare some more thing that you can read he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%94%D7%A8_%D7%9E%D7%95%D7%A0%D7%98%D7%A8 (only in Hebrew you can use google translate) he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%A2%D7%96%D7%90%D7%96%D7%9C (only in Hebrew you can use google translate) goo.gl/maps/TBJNmUBjdVidHYKy7 (maybe you can see it in English im not sure). This is all for now if i will remember more i will post it hare 😃

I didn’t know all of that! I knew parts of it but didn’t mention it because I just wanted to focus on just the biblical lore like I did for the other videos. (Plus I started learning about that after most of the script was written but shhhh) From what I’ve heard from some of you in the comments I probably should have gone into that but I had no idea how deep it was! Towards the end I said “there’s other religious text that makes people think azazel is satan” and that’s what I was alluding to lol. In retrospect it deserves more of a mention. I’ll pin this so everyone can read.

personally, i feel like azazel is the “dark prince” basically, he would be satans son, in a way. that’s why him kissing jesus is as exaggerated of an issue as it seemed. but then again, as jesus is essentially just god, it makes sense that azazel is essentially just satan. that’s my understanding, at least. since they don’t bring him up too much i can’t really comment on it. but also in the beginning, i feel as though his name translating to ‘scapegoat’ makes a lot more sense than it seems. he was blamed not only for things he did do wrong, but also crimes that were placed on him and things he never did. therefore, the other angels that did not want punishment used him as their scapegoat to avoid becoming ‘fallen’.

Also another stretch, for maw of the void at 10:50, my interpretation is its the opening to "the void", whether that void is hell (my interpretation) or not I'm not sure. The item does damage to all enemies it touches and if they die from it, there's a chance of a demon heart drop (implying that the enemies were send to hell for their sin). I don't really think I have seen people trying to put Isaac's references towards the Bible together in the west (aside from artists I guess...?), and I must say the coverage of the video is pretty comprehensive, great job on that! (Side tangent: It still bugs me a lot how Isaac even managed to know these things considering technically the only mentions of Azazel being anything but a location is from sources not considered canon by Christian church, and afaik are used in theology more to make sense of the lore...though I guess it's fair to say that Isaac could possibly hear the story from his schoolmates judging by how all over the place the references are here or in terms of the entire game.)

I like how it clearly shows you did a lot of research when it came to making this video, the only thing I was a little disappointed on was not touching the popular theory that in the game Azazel is the demon Isaac sees himself as due to him thinking he's evil for thinking he caused his parents to split, but I understand that's more to do with the game than any religious connections which was the theme here

@lukasnovella90012 жыл бұрын
I have a lot of comments. A. The Crown items are probably just references to Azazel’s General High Ranking. He’s usually seen as a Satan (if not THE Satan) and several people list him as a Prince of Hell. Even In Enoch, he’s seen as a leader of the Gregori. Furthermore, The Satan/Devil is sometimes called “The Prince of Darkness” although that is more modern. B. Azazel is also similar to the name Azazil- the name of Iblis before his fall. He also bears some similarities with Both Aza and Azrael, to the point that I’ve heard theories that Azazel is a COMBINATION of Aza and Azrael, but is sketchy at best. Overall, Not really relevant and likely not related entomological you, but interesting. C. I can’t believe you didn’t mention how Azazel is a MAKE UP BOY in Enoch. Yeah, he taught Everyone how to make weapons and the art of Warfare, but he also taught women how to ornament their bodies (jewelry) dye their hair and paint their faces (Makeup). It’s great D. Begotten Baby could a reference to the Nephilm, the Begotten Offspring of the Fallen Gregori/Watchers. I do think it is more of a general demonic reference, though, as Isaac seems to lean more into Azazel as a Demonic figure than his Depiction in Enoch
@Keelvin2 жыл бұрын
A. I for sure could be wrong but I didn’t see any concrete evidence that azazel was a leader which I did mention. But I think you’re right about the crown items. B. That is very interesting I had no idea. C. I didn’t say it out loud but I showed a screenshot from the passage that explains the makeup stuff. I just didn’t say it out load as it wasn’t essential to the narrative
@lukasnovella90012 жыл бұрын
@@Keelvin Oh yeah, the Make Up thing is totally fair. It’s not essential at all, it’s just my Darling fact.
