I had watched videos of her before and thought she was exciting to watch. But critics said she never faced any tough competition. Then, she won the 2023 European Indoor 800 meter championship but critics again said she wouldn't stand a chance in Olympic competition vs. the worlds best. She brings home the gold in Paris and all of Britain is proud of her accomplishment.

I don’t know what “critics” you have heard from but she has been consistently ranked first or second in the world since she was 18 (she’s now 22). She won silver is n the previous Olympics (2021) and in the last two World Championships (2022, 2023). The combined total of the difference between her and the winners of those three finals was less than one second. She has won a number of other key titles including overall Diamond Keague champion in 2021 and 2023, European champion in 2022 and 2034, and the list goes on.

The experts were saying Mary Moraa is a faster 400 metre runner, but she was on Keely Hodgkinson's shoulder off the final bend after a relatively slow race and yet Keely still accelerated away to win by a distance. This might indicate that Keely is quicker over 400m!
