Sold cars in my early 20s but after I got married and had 3 children.. i needed more consistent income so I got into insurance adjusting. I miss sales because there's something special about getting a customer who came in COLD and all of a sudden you got them sweating to buy a car.

I never got leads, they tried to screw me out of a full deal every time I sold a car so I left. I also start as a salesman in 2 days. I live in a small town probably 200 people and the dealership and sounding towns only adds up to maybe 6,000. On my interview I did notice about 5 car salesman and I was getting some hard looks. I’m worried about too much competition and not enough customers, but at the same time I also want the experience, I do need to pay bills just like everyone else…

The best thing to worry about is how you can be a better version of yourself than last month. How you may improve upon last month's version of yourself is what matters most. There will always be competition in sales, regardless of the size of the store.
