Good first impression vid, thank you. I am a bank fisherman, and many times, the grass is long when walking the banks. In the summer, in Saint Louis, humidity takes over, and early in the morning the grass can be very wet from dew, almost as if it rained overnight. What I am looking for is dry feet when walking through this wet grass. In your opinion, would my feet be dry?
@MCMOutdoors Жыл бұрын
They're fairly low for boots and designed to be that way...... If hiking in long wet grass, I'd always use gaiters......

Great review, as usual Chris. How waterproof would you say they are? I have a pair of Mountain Warehouse boots, that were advertised as waterproof, but on a very wet day hiking in Wales, they were soaked through.
@MCMOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Mate I guarantee these are totally waterproof - I've purposefully stood in streams when I was with Al in the Yorkshire Dales, plus they've been in all kinds up in the Lake District and Pendle - majority of my last videos are wearing these as can be seen. Obviously, any water seeping through trousers will run down your legs and into the boots and anything over the top too - so just have to be mindful of that - but the boots themselves, are definitely fully waterproof
@mikerowell13262 жыл бұрын
I had the same problem with a pair of mountain warehouse boots - ok in a shower but I’ve my feet soaked in really wet condition - I will definitely consider getting a pair of these instead!
@mrwes1002 жыл бұрын
IMHO, they are waterproof; however, for me, that means my feet sweat a bit more. I just add some foot powder and it's a non-issue.
@labellaescrima1996 Жыл бұрын
you need to know boots are never waterproof per say, you either perspire (which gets them wet inside) or you cross water and the water gets in. Anything Gore-Tex is guarantee to a certain point, plus when they get wet it takes for ever to dry them out, so better off using boots that if they get wet dry fast and easy, so water resistant boots would be your best buy!

Hi, any boot in hard snow and ice would need spikes or crampons adding. These are too flexible for crampons, but spikes would work 👍

Hi Chris, Great review & seriously looking at getting a pair as I am currently wearing the trusted Lowa Renegades. I'm looking for a more lightweight Trail / Boot & you now have me thinking so 👍. Can I just ask what's the sizing like? I'm a 10-11 & quite often you hear about going a size up merely to factor in socks & foot swelling after a long days hiking. Cheers Mitch
@MCMOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
They're a generous fit mate - I am a 10/11 and got the 10.5 - ample room with winter hiking socks on. Cracking pair of boots mate and definitely come into their element in Spring and Summer. ATB
@labellaescrima1996 Жыл бұрын
that is why when you buy boots you should always try them in the evening if you can and with the socks you will use when hiking, camping or whatever, only you know how good the boots feels on your feet. No one can help you out when it comes to sizing, just make sure you know your own size, like width and length of your own feet.

@MCMOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
You could wear them for Kili - they are very light and comfortable, however you might want something a little heavier as it's a serious endeavour, I'd probably use heavier boots if I was doing a mountain like Kili.

Lowa Renegade, Oboz, Asolo, and some Keen would be a good choice, they are well made not too heavy and have good grips so less sliding on icy grounds. My all time favourite are Salomon Quest 4 D, can't go wrong with them. I own 20 + pair of hiking, trailing boots and shoes so I kind of got an idea of what is good and better. I live in a country where we have six months of winter so again I have tried a few of them. Cheers

nice video and great review, just wondered about the toe protection eventually the glue will dry up and and since it is not sown in the boots might come off within a year if you go out when it rains or put your boot in water, I wear Oboz and the toe protector is sowed in the boots vs your Keen, please make a video within a year to see if it did come off.
