When we begin Dragon Age: The Veilguard, in Character Creation, there will be choices from the Dragon Age Keep to input, prompted by select questions with tarot card images. We don't know what these choices are, but I created a Spreadsheet with key choices and a few extras to keep things organised.

Those who played the game have confirmed there are choices from all three previous games. But some folks who saw leaks are saying it's only a handful of choices from Inquisition. There seems to be a contradiction. I will trust the word of those who played the game. IGN and Kala Elizabeth a youtuber who has played the game has confirmed you only get 3 world state options (1.Inquisitor romance choice, 2. Inquisition status, 3.Diposition to Solas.), and that you cant select the inquisitors class. "Dragon Age Veilguard: The INQUISITOR'S Return & 3 Keep Choices!" and it is at 14:36 in her vid for that class information bit. This has absolutely crushed my hype, at this point. I'll probably still play it but I'm gonna wait for a big sale. I'm going through almost a mourning process in my mind for the old Bioware at this point. They made all my favorite games growing up and player choice mattering throughout the series was a core part of Mass Effect and Dragon Age. I never thought the makers of Mass Effect 2 my 2nd favorite game of all time, only behind Jak & Daxter The Precursor Legacy would end up like this.

There are a whopping THREE choices, all from Inquisition. It was just dropped in an IGN article. Who your inquisitor was, who they romanced, and if the inquisition was disbanded or not. I'm really not cool with that. Guess we won't even get a codex on past game choices.

Also if the Inquisitor promised to redeem Solas or stop him by any means. But yeah, all those past choices are just destroyed in the 9 year time-skip. Not even a codex for the Hero of Ferelden and the search for a cure for the taint, which would be pretty helpful when fighting tainted evanuris, right? Nothing on Hawke or Weisshaupt. No Blackwall. No Cole. No Zevran. Nothing about Urthemiel's soul possibly being preserved. No plot surrounding who drank from the Well or how that person can help Rook. NOTHING!!!

I've seen a few leaked ones that confirm romance choices for the Inquisitor. I also know they can't show all the choices. Either way, this spreadsheet helps remind me of my main choices that I deem important, whether we actually need them or not. 😉 I also had a lot of fun putting this together so even most choices don't matter, I've enjoyed the process. I am guessing we either get a dozen choices or just a handfull. 😅

@@DarthShadie Glad you enjoyed it. ​I just wish bw will give us a confirmation at some point that these aren't all the options we will have. TBH it's weird to have some choices listed in a menu while others are imported in some other way, especially for the ones from DAI. I see a lot of speculations like they're doing it to avoid spoilers, or this may be an early build of the game, or the options are on another menu. They all seem a little stretch to me tho. Sorry for being a downer. It's just this is by far THE worst news to me.😭

@@Myraculous_ I understand. Those who played the game cannot reveal all choices, so to me that is the first main clue that there is more. And that it looks different. It's tough with partial leaks like this because it gives one impression while remaining incomplete. That's why I'm not worried personally, but it does make it look meagre at best. Like, show it all or show nothing. All or nothing, so we are clear. That's what I would prefer.

sadly I don't think we got many or any choices for DAO-Da2 . Many of us worry about this. There are some leaked screen from DATV DAI part of world state and the situation is very grim... hopefully it is under development ( I mean the CC keep part) so in the final we got more options but 1 month.. sooo yeah... :/

Many who got to play the game have confirmed that they are not allowed to show the choices or Varric's narration that follows aside from a few shots of that narration. That is why all we've seen is meagre.

It appears that from Origins and DA2 is mostly Hero: Alive or death Romance And probably in DAO, Dark Ritual as I imagine Kieran may be there with Morrigan, those are the only choices I expect, sadly.

Considered I wanted to see companions from Dragon Age II and Zevran from Origins ... I would say I cared less about Inquisition choices, as Inquisition is set in Orlais-Ferelden, then about Dragon Age II choices considered Kirkwall is right over there in Free Marches. Even some choices from II like fate of Feynriel. One of ends is that he is dreamer now studying in Tevinter after all. We're going to Tevinter so he should be there.

@@werty21100 . I don't read the books either, only Asunder 😂. Personally, I don't like when videogame franchises expand their canon with extra material, just like you I only play the videogames. In Asunder, Shale also appears, she is traveling with Wynne for the reasons you mentioned, her last appearance in the franchise is at the end of Asunder in Wynne's funeral. So it's unknown what happened to Shale after that. Oh, by the way, Cole mentions Wynne's death in Inquisition, but you probably didn't notice because he doesn't mention her by name.

That’s the thing I am worried about on how they will implement choices from Origins and II from The Veilguard Keep. I’m assuming the Keep is not even finished according to some people and John Epler in interviews says that they will focusing on “important choices” from Origins and II. I assume the Origins and II romances are important especially since a lot of people want the Morrigan romance to be acknowledged, which side did Hawke choose at the end of Act 3 is important, if the warden is alive or not is important and the Dark Ritual choice I assume is very important especially on how that choice affected Inquisition hugely.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if BioWare featured an enemy in Veilguard called "The Twisted Hero" and it's just some monster that Ghillan'nain altered from The Hero of Ferelden into some abominable horror Rook has to kill. They no longer respect player choice.

I understand the sentiment. While I will still play and most likely enjoy the game, it is disappointing, especially after creating expectations about more choices. If it's a question of the code breaking they had to roll back constantly (living with a programmer) then I expect them to be honest with us and tell us that. Instead they created expectations and seem to be going back on that now. That's where my disappointment lies, just be straight with us about it, instead of saying the choices don't impact Northern Thedas because I fail to see how a bunch of past choices don't.

@@Funky-Joe I get the feeling you guys haven't read the article. Heck, Dragon Age's Reddit page isn't happy with the article either. If anything, the article saying that basically outside of a few choices for DAI, none of your Dragon Age Keep is going to matter, and those choices from DAI aren't really that important. Did the Inquisition recruit or exile the Grey Wardens, save either the Templars or the Mages, or did we leave behind Hawke? None of those questions are going to be answered in DAV since the Bioware team are using this game as a "clean slate" for their ideas (as quoted by BW's creative director, John Epler) and apparently, they don't seem to care for the players' choices in the previous games.

The ones on my face in my profile pic are Mythal, the simple version. Melana has the June vallaslin before Solas removes them. Assan Lavellan has the Sylaise. Oh, and we have the same vallaslins and more in DAV, so my Inquisitors can have the same vallaslin. I am so happy!

In the Keep, yes. The Keep has to remain functional for DAI. We just dont import a World State from the Keep to The Veilguard, we select choices instead.😊

I've seen a lot of people getting very upset about this on various places online. Origins, II and DA:I being condensed down to 3 choices is pretty pathetic to be fair. the choices make me wonder is there stll video reveals coming with cassandra and dorian. They showed morrigan, i would say dorian and cassandra hopefully make appearances. In my dai's solas was friend always to be saved, and josephine my inky's love, and cassandra was the divine, mlst the time inquisition downsized. But what about if ig wasn't hawke but blondie was father of morrigan's son. And theres the unknown regardless of father how the old god kid plays into this.

Thanks for sharing. That would mean that John Epler's vagueness in the article that came out earlier today is just him listing three off the top of his head. There are so many contradictions surrounding this and the article seems a bit misleasing. I get the impression there's more too nut it's hard to tell just from the rumours and the article. If a screenshot shows more, then I doubt they would deliberately remove those choices after implementing them. Do you remember who had shared that screenshot?

In my video, I speculate some choices that I feel are important and I wanted them all in a spreadsheet. When I recorded and scheduled this video, there was no confirmation of any choices. Around noon Eastern Time, IGN put out an article stating three choices from Inquisition. It contradicts what some who played the game were saying. It was incomplete but the devs might have decided to keep those choices simple.

even if you cut down the choices drastically I can't believe they couldn't at least include a mention of your previous protagonists... maybe through dialogue with Varric. Just to give you a sense of connection. it would be a simple scene to do. and the choice of the Well?? how is that not relevant it's the most relevant choice literally. Evanuris are back and both Inky and Morrigan are in the game :( not to mention callback on charactered like Zevran.. who should deff be there because of the Crows. also Fenris as he was part of the comics and characters from the are in this game and he woudl totally fit. Loghain and Alistair choices should also matter with Warden involvement. all these things.. and by proxy the characters obviously.. abandoned :(

I mean, I get for new players it might be overwhelming, but they could have had 7 or 9 choices (to go with their numbers symbols). New players would enjoy reading the codex type recaps.

During my 3 recent playthroughs, i mostly picked the same choices. The biggest diversions were the romance choices. As for my Rooks. I wanna make the following: - An old Qunari mage. - A red haired Dwarf warrior. - A blonde Elf rogue.

I respect your enthusiasm for Dragon Age and your dedication to providing quality content. I was going to post a reply today but I didn't have enough time. I was going to guess, 1. Who drank? 2. Who's Divine? And 3. Redeem or stop by any means? Well, I am sad to report that according to Kala Elizabeth, there are only three. 1. Who was romanced? 2. Keep or disband? 3. Redeem or stop by any means. AND the Inquisitor might not even be able to show off his or her class. Meaning, there is no option to set the Inquisitor as a warrior, mage, or rogue. Wow. All those plot threads, gone in a puff of smoke. BioWare does not respect our past choices, and neither will Veilguard give Rook any good options in this game. >:(

Thanks. Yeah, I have since seen the article and felt a pang of disappointment if I'm honest. I'll still enjoy the game, that's for sure, but it puzzles me. It feels like a copout. It's not out of the realm of possibilities to have some choices coded into dialogue choices that will be implemented in following cutscenes, but Epler being Epler was vague enough to sound conclusive and gave a reason I find bogus. There are more choices that impact Northern Thedas.

@@DarthShadie I think BioWare has been cutting corners since Trespasser, honestly. That's when the railroading and nullification of past choices started. I have an article about Trespasser all written out, it's just a matter of hosting the pictures and posting it on the BSN forums. Yes, Epler's comment was laughable. He basically admitted it was a skill issue. Those were the only three choices they could bring in and provide content for in a fulfilling way? Wow.

Last night (uhm this morning lol), I was in the main channel of the BioWare Discord server and so many people there, like me, while we were a bit bummed, we were optimistic and confident we would enjoy the game. I also spoke with my husband who is a programmer, that from a coding persoective, sometimes you are certain to implement something in the build, but in the end if there are too many bugs and crashes, you are forced to change and alter and drop certain features. And if you were so certain prior to this, then you look silly for having built expectations, and I think that's part of what happened.

@@DarthShadie well if you look at the gameplay it’s no longer that sense of dead because your no longer just a normal human/elf/ dwarf with all of these abilities and powers you’re pretty much a superhero flipping around and sending bolts of pure energy from the sky’s what made DAO so good was that you were just that a normal person you made alliance with faction and people who’s mind set was where ally’s today but tomorrow enemies again

I worry as well, but not because of dark and grittines. I watched latest trailer from today and its pretty dark, like Origin level dark. At least in todays trailer. I worry more about choices from previous games that seems not to matter.

@@gromdal9293 for me the choices regarding the grey wardens have been amazing poor in many ways how can you send away the only people who can stop a blight and a arch demon and the choice with mages and templars the way they make it out mages always good templars bad the Templars so have the right to be weary of the mages but the stories and choices never let players see it from three point of view
