Another vote for Denison Algebra! My seventh grader used pre algebra this year. It's life changing! Best math curriculum ever, worth every penny! My son understood everything and has gotten 100% on every test so far and only has two chapters left! Mr Denison is funny and engaging and has fun songs to teach everything. My kids will use them throughout the rest of their homeschool career!

We switched from math u see to Denison Algebra for pre-algebra. It has been great for my son! I love how he can do it independently.

Logic of English has spelling rule flashcards that you could use with Sequential Spelling.

Thanks so much for this summary - so helpful! We also used Curiosity Chronicles, Word Roots, and Philosophy for Kids and would recommend. Going to check out Michael Clay Thompson now!

We tried it, but my kiddos just don't like things from All about Learning Press unfortunately.

We love MWC!!! My younger kids do better with math u see when we need to supplement with it!!! Our math u see was mine so it’s old!!! Our spelling is phonic based but has the spelling rules as well!!! We had to put science history on hold due to our travels!!! We plan to pick them up when we get off work in September so we have more time to do it!!! We love science chunks!!! We love word up!!! We didn’t like the fallacy deceptive but we only did half of it and we didn’t know if it’s secular or Christian!!!
@Homeschoolology6 ай бұрын
I'm sure they are learning a ton of history traveling! So I say you did not put that on hold. LOL. I'll have to check out Word Up. I'm thinking Fallacy Detective is going to end up as one of those things that just doesn't get pick up unfortunately.

Okay here's my question: i see so many homeschoolers videos with a separate curriculum for reading, spelling, grammar, writing, etc. I'm planning on using the good and the beautiful LA with my daughter... (Which I know is not considered secular) Which is supposed to include it all... But should I be getting more options? Is that not going to be enough? Why do so many people piecemeal it? Thanks! I appreciate you and your videos!

For me, I was never able to find an "all-in-one" curriculum that worked for us (with the exception of Pinwheels!). We tried Logic of English, and it was okay. But we never really loved it. I think Language Art simply has too many components to fit into one curriculum without it being overwhelming. I actually like piecing it together because I know my children and I know what is going to work for them and what is not. I can't say much about The Good and the Beautiful because I have never used it. But I have a friend who does and I know she still supplements with other things when her kiddos need more help in a specific area. Hope that was helpful! Thanks for watching!

I think when starting out homeschooling it's much easier to do an all in one type language arts. After you get to know your kids strengths you may find that you want to supplement with something else for a subject ( say more writing or spelling) either way I used TGTB a ton for my first few years of homeschooling and I still use them a bit now.
