Most of us get excited when we hear "WALKIES" - but not ground nesting birds!
We need to keep our dogs on a short lead or close at heel in moorlands, forests, grasslands, loch and sea shores to avoid disturbing birds that nest on or near the ground during breeding season (usually April-July).
But that's not all - there are some other responsibilities that we and our wee furry pals have. We won’t let our dogs disturb farm animals and let’s never take them into a field where there are young animals such as lambs or calves - no matter how cute they are!
Finally, don't forget to pick up after they've done a… well, you know...
Let’s keep Scotland unspoiled.
