The hardest part for me about watercolor.....is learning how the colors/hue /darkness changes when it drys! I will find out it dryed way more light than I wanted or worse, it didnt lighten up as much as I thought. Like when u put down the first wash on the head I thought, that is wayyy to dark.

Another very enjoyable (and instructive) video, Liron - thanks for sharing. In the main I personally value most your videos covering painting techniques but, like many others, I also enjoy the Masters series and I do hope that you continue doing these ... ... with maybe some additional representation of female artists (as somebody else suggested in the comments) who definitely produce art that is fully the equal of their better-represented male counterparts. Thanks again for all you contribute to the community - yours is definitely one of the best watercolour KZbin channels around. Cheers, Brian.

Hi Liron! I think I will try this exercise, I didn't paint a human figure before. I really love your choice of colours for defining shadows. I personally would added some more details on the left area of the head (a blended cheekbone and other curls) in a mid-tone shadow. I love the strong shadow of the background in the right, but I would blended it more towards the lower part and on the left. I'm still a beginner and I still struggle with details. I can't still simplify in the right way☺️. Thank you very much, you are a great teacher!

Escoda brushes are wonderful! I've got some versatil and a optimo squirrel. The problem with the sintetic brushes is that they loose their pointy tip by using them.

What brand paints do you mostly use? I noticed before it was Schmincke. I'm a fan of both but I've had too many DS paints burst when opening the cap. Permanent Brown ended up on my wall and stained it. Now I'm switching to Schmincke but am interested in your opinion. Do you prefer DS or Schmincke?

Why are you using the wrong side of the paper? Just curious.

I use the two sides interchangeably, I find there isn't a wrong or right one (: Never gave any thought to it, they have different textures and are both interesting.

Really lovely! I'd like to see the artists have some more women represented, there is a disparate proportion of males.i know I sound really dumb but you lost me at the beginning with the warm and cool areas. Maybe it's the terminology? I kept trying to figure out what you meant because I thought originally that you were painting far to dark. It did turn out lovely but I am still lost
@LironYan
@LironYan 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you 😊🙏🏼 Was the part about temperature unclear? I was mainly alternating between blues and siennas to strengthen the feeling of light. Where I feel the shadow is a bit more exposed to light - I went a little warmer. It's not accurate science though - so a lot of it is my personal interpretation (:

Very odd, not going dark enough and too much water are actually in my experience the two biggest mistakes I see beginners making. Not the other way around. Maybe things are different on the other side of the world hahaha

I started off being too light handed with water colour, now I’m too heavy handed with the pigment and need to re discover using more water and lighter use of pigment, so this really spoke to me.
@LironYan

Haha I get it! I had this experience too 😂 Went through the whole spectrum - going too light, then too dark. Now trying to settle around a happy middle (:

I got stuck at "flutist" and had to pause and go away to find out who uses that word. Seems that only Americans (and by extension, Israelis ;) ) I have only ever hear people say "Flautist"

Haha had no idea 😂 We are indeed more exposed to American English here rather that British English! (I believe in the past it was reversed for a while)
