Keep your cattle out of your ponds for heaven's sake!!! Our skid steer operator Johnny will be fixing all three ponds on our new farm with livestock rock drinking skirts that protect the pond. Cattle absolutely will destroy a nice pond in a very short period by wading off into them. Not only do they fill them up with mud, but the manure and urine destroy the quality of the drinking water.

Thanks for the video! It sure looks beautiful there. I wish you get some rain too. I’m hoping to do an experiment this year. I’m going to make compost tea and/or extract and apply it on foliar. I probably just use a hand sprayer unless I can find something else. I try to get a free sprayer pull behind but I wasn’t quick enough to respond. If anything, I might put in the seeds that I will plant this year to see what happens. I noticed my some of my pasture isn’t growing as fast as other parts. Also, the places I put my chicken manure is 2-3 times taller than non chicken manure areas I spread out last year.

Should you put down ground cloth before the big rock goes down?

Don't get started unless you're able to discuss a former pres. and his team using the white house pharmacy as their personal candy store, according to witnesses, and didn't you see that picture of your hairspray hero where he left a drawer open and it's full of Adderall?

*Another great video, Greg!* *Once the rock skirts are in place on both sides of the pond, what remedial steps, if any, will you take to address the severe pugging from the hooves of the bulls and the steers before installing the permanent high tensile wire perimeter fence around the pond?*
@gregjudyregenerativerancher
@gregjudyregenerativerancher Ай бұрын
Once rock skirts are installed, the high tensile permanent fence will be installed, The actual rock skirt area will have fiberglass posts driven into the pond on each side of the skirt that will have electric poly-tape fastened to them.

Does that damage cause the pond to lose its seal after a while in those places? I just had a few of the ponds dug back out this spring and they are my water sources throughout the farm.

No the water will not go out in the pugged area. Only if if was possibly in the dam area.

Careful about taking trees off the dam if they've been there a while. They can have roots which will rot, thereby leaving a weak spot for water to follow. Might not happen for several years, but it can act similarly to a muskrat hole. Small trees won't be a problem, but larger trees, if they are on the dam, be aware.

How did the dump trucks do coming in there, any ruts? I used to drive a dump truck, I DID NOT like operating on uneven terrain. Very top heavy vehicles.
