My goodman is from 2002 with a new control board and inducer but original burners and everything else. Good stuff.

You'd think the new burner screw holes would be exactly like the old ones. Great job on the Goodman!

I like Goodman, that's what we sell here, local parts availability, and no bullshit on warranty return parts like some other manufactures. Easy to work on.

Goodman is a pretty good workhorse for the money.

Their pkg units are pretty reliable, and relatively easy to work on too.

Great job Charles love how you just tapped new holes sometimes that's the best way. And the begining of the winter months is not the time to be changing units out or pushing selling a new unit. It's like the old saying if the custumer is, still happy with an old unit and is okay with the cost on the utility bills why mess with it Charles. And you know a lot of those older systems hold up. But key is sometimes doing simple mods like tapping new screw holes can make a, world of diference when it comes to making new parts work. Please keep it up charles it's nice to see videos from you and even Ted cook working on types of units hvac guy Curtis in Georgia constantly works in or puts up with. As he should not be the only one And I bring that up because I watch you Ted cook Jake porter and Curtis but one other and that's Jeff's hvac adventures out of Maryland. And he is good too. With having to put up with a lot of rtus on Comercial buildings. Including old Yorks and carriers. Where due to cost it's not always ideal just to replace them with newer units. Because that's Comercial and not resedential units But as for me I don't like the new carriers either. Take care.

I completely agree about the new carriers. They are not even comparable to the old ones.

@myHVAClife its not just carrier either it's Goodman Lennox even trane. And goodman is not even goodman anymore it's daikan who owns them and I don't like daiken either I do like the Mitsubishi stuff especially for mini splits. Split sytems from them I need to research more. Gree flex is actaully not bad. But again with the refrigerent change I wonder if that will still be the case. Pioneer I know makes good mini splits and even with thier diy units. They do good things like not preflare the linesets and tell the homeowner what things they need to buy like you need a flare tool set a vacuum pump and gauge set. Not no vac quick connect linesets. Gimicks and here is the key Charles if you are not experienced or comfortable doing this kind of work contact a professional hvac contractor to perform hooking up the linesets and flaring them and the vacaum procedures. As we all know it's one thing mounting the systems but another when it comes to flaring and vacaum procedures. Before releasing the refrigerent and I learned that from watching Ted cooks installing a mini split at my house video where he erjt over checking preflared linesets ajx not liking them. Please keep up these good videos.

Goodman. Almost every replacement part is on the truck. Thrane and Carrier dealers bash Goodman because the distributor doesn’t buy the dealers truck wraps.

I’ve seen some terrible units, but the old Goodman’s are solid.
