This colony of honey bees think this car tire is a great place to call home but the home owner, grass cutters & neighbors disagree!
Watch me remove the bee colony & give them a new home.
It was a win win all the way around as the removal couldn't have gone better, the bees were very gentle & everyone there that day had a great time witnessing the event.
Here's the link to the video of me removing bees from the truck tire I mention in this video:

That reminds me of how they used to keep bees in England. They used skeps, dowl grids about 6 inches from the bottom to allow a bowl feeder to be inserted. The combs never got disturbed and the skep was reusable.....it could also be completely sanitized of life if a problem arose. They didn't have problems with mites because they just dropped out of the hive. Draw back was that you decimated the hive if you tried to remove a frame.

I love that too! Biggest work of his is taming humans, not bees. His legacy is more people learning to love bees again. I was stung when I was four and was frightened of them after that until I was in my early 20s. I'm still scared of yellowjackets (I'm 36), but definitely not honey bees or bumble bees. I have a little way to go with yellowjackets, even though I have never been stung by them.

If the bee's have got to much honey and haven't been robbed they get cranky. And when they build up numbers and over crowd the spot they in they get cranky to they swarm of. And other times it's because it's a cranky queen that needs to be destroyed and replaced. And certain weather. So there's multiple reasons why they do . Still a awesome creation.

Another awesome video brother!!! I always try to tell people if you have "honey bees" call a bee keeper. If you have wasp, yellow jackets or hornets call an exterminator. We don't have enough bees now so don't kill them or make a hive sick by spraying them with chemicals!!! It's awesome watching you work!! Much love and respect from Slidell, happy Mardi Gras!!!!!
@nomaderic
@nomaderic 5 жыл бұрын
I was an exterminator once, every now and then I would get called out to a home and I would arrive and instantly see signs of a honeybee hive. While the customers would get a little upset because I told them I could not take care of their problem I would always tell them to try to get a beekeeper. You dont wanna kill these guys they aren't here to hurt you....people would be in awe because I would just go up to the bees with no fear and not get stung not to be cocky but to show them that they aren't an enemy, just looking for a home
@MsCherade9
@MsCherade9 4 жыл бұрын
@@nomaderic Of course the risks to the home owner and the physical shell of the building is difficult to get across at times. Killing the bees in the walls does nothing to remove the wax, comb and stored honey left behind. Then you get cockroachs, hive beetles, other bees, all trying to get into the honey, hot days can melt the wax so it drips around inside a wall cavity... People just don't think in advance enough!

It should be illegal to exterminate a wild honey bee hive without cause. If they're not crazy aggressive and they're not diseased, they should always be rescued and rehomed safely.

We use cut truck tires to make bumpers for a shrimp boat. The way we did it was to pour motor oil on the part to be cut. Then jam a knife in to get the cut started. As you cut, you add motor oil to lubricate the area. I cut many a tire with a $5.00 MORA Knife, so it's not that hard to do.

Wow. Im glad I ran into this. An idiot here in Miami dumped in the trash a bucket full of bees. I was so sad to see that. Out in the sun. I felt so bad, I had to save them. All I said is, if i wanna save them, I cant be scared of them. So I very slowly picked up the bucket, walked home 7 blocks real slow, and now they are at my house. Flying around looking beautiful. I hope to one day be able to care for them with such ease as this gentlemen does. I only have one question... Ive been bite by bees before, they are so calm with him and everyone is so relaxed. Do these bees bite? Sting?
@JPthebeeman
@JPthebeeman 5 жыл бұрын
:Lazara - Martinez: Unknown kudos to you for saving the bees! The bees you see here can sting but are pretty gentle “genetically”. The smoker is a beekeepers best friend if used correctly. Applying smoke can achieve several things but most importantly it has a calming effect that keeps most bees from going crazy on you unless they are aggressive bees to begin with, then you suit up. You actually suit up before they go nuts on you. Aggressive bees will give you warnings to keep away by buzzing around you, bumping into you or just stinging you when you get too close for their comfort. Good luck with your new colony of bees.

question JP , 1, What size bands are you using ? And does that size work for all size frames ? Love how you work and explain everything, thank you for making good videos 😉 I lived in Westbank for a bit right behind Westjeff Hospital, keep doing such a great job JP 🥰

TopMar Ranch Adventures & Giggles thank you & I use #33’s from Office Depot. They work great for deep & medium frames.
