A wise teacher of mine referenced the bible (casting pearls before swines), to remind us to use discernment with whom we chose to share wisdom and how much, not just because not everyone is ready for certain wisdom in that moment, but to also help us "keep" the power of the wisdom within ourselves rather than allowing it to dissipate if shared without discernment (my words). Thoth says this isn't MAGIC, it's WISDOM! I really needed to hear this. I have learned, experienced, seen and manifested so much in the past 5 years it's unbelievable and really hard to keep it all bottled up. I get excited and wanna share it with any and everyone who asks how am I doing, along with sharing my current endeavors. HUGE, HUGE MISTAKE in sharing your endeavors, even with those whom you love and trust. But I have this savior complex. I want people to experience and acquire the same things I have and more. I wanna let people know that this same power is within everyone. But when you talk to others about it, "your endeavors" the power dissipates. It weakens or change its course. This is why people love to talk to others about their problems because the problems, the feelings that you get somehow seem to fade away, and we don't realize that this power works the same way with what you intensely concentrate on when focusing on your endeavors. KEEP SILENT PLEASE. Silent within yourself and when it comes to sharing with others!!! The bible says you should commune with yourself "the Lord". I noticed that once I become silent and focused, it comes into fruition much easier and quicker. "Concentrated energy"

@@lotsofteabutnonetodrink5843 l didnt believe it first. But then l realised, l had painted children, like little kids and mothers. I ended up becoming a father by 2006. Then the penny dropped as they say. You see every line we make, every mark, has information. That info is your subconscious speaking through the body's kinetyc system. Remote viewing works the same way. Where the idea is that our bodys share information with the environment, where your daily consciousness has no access, but by tunning in and becoming receptive to impressions, we can become aware of that which is the ether for lack of a better word.

The last point you mention: It is easier to talk about something than to achieve it... That made me realize why it's impossible for me to use affirmations or wishlists, or "dream boards." Great video. I've always used the petri-dish analogy. Manifesting a desired outcome is like growing bacteria in a petri dish. Your initial idea, is the strain of bacteria that you introduce to the dish. The energy you put into it, is you feeding it. The analogy covers both the idea of silence, and the idea of waiting patiently for the end result. Telling others about your working, is like letting them open up the petri dish and touch the experiment - introducing their own competing strains of bacteria in the process, and potentially ruining your experiment. Similarly, checking your own working too often, or inserting doubts like "Why isn't it working yet?" is like constantly opening your petri dish to check on the growth. You might get away with it sometimes, but each time you open the dish, there's a danger of some foreign bacteria getting in there. Better to do introduce the idea, give it sufficient energy, and then avoid disturbing it too often.

It is indeed since before Eleusis the secret to all magic that the Mystery or "Mysterion" IS always and ONLY the experience. Which is why reading a ritual in a book or imagining it lightly in your head will never replace the physical and sonic power of gesture and volume. Of course, some say that this changes in the transition from the Lesser Mysteries (Lesser Circulation) to the Greater. Who knows.... But I do trust my experiences more than good ol' book learnin'. Not that I'm not obsessed by beautiful books eh :P

Adam James if you haven’t read this already, you might get something from an essay in a highly recommended book of essays on the occult. The essay is entitled “Executable Dreamtime”by Mark Pesce, and explores ideas of language in Magick as well as life; it’s power and inherent flaws. The essay can be found in a compilation of occult essays by various authors entitled “The Book of Lies”, a nod to Crowley and his work if the same name.

Thanks Denis, the other reason I personally feel silence is more important is, whatever your intentions are, people will always misinterpret and worst it's the same as casting pearls before swine. A useless and dangerous endeavour, dangerous in this age not because of being set fire too, but because it taints your personal belief and gives room for doubt to creep in.

The Thoth deck hahaha I was a person that was excited to share everything as so much was happening at once. I then had an intense out of body meditation where I was told by someone close to Thoth (I can’t say who) the important of secrecy. And that if I need to take this path I have to remember that the only way to make it “sacred” is through “secrecy”. Crazy how much powerful I’m becoming since and how much more in love with these teaching I am since it’s something FOR ME only. Everyone’s initiation is different, don’t take anyone’s rules or path on what needs to be done for YOU to walk that path. If it’s meat for you, it will find you. Forcing initiation is an ego trap hence why we have a lot of egotistical teachers.

This is an excellent discussion about the importance of silence. Since you've requested comments about other reasons for why silence is important, I'd like to mention one that to me seems to actually be one of the most important reasons for silence. Keeping silent requires discipline and developing that discipline goes hand in hand with building the discipline required for study, for ritual practice, for silencing the mind, and for keeping one's ego in check. I also believe that breaking silence take our internal energy and power and releases it into the world. Keeping silence builds discipline but it also contains that power and energy within ourselves so that we can direct it to our magickal practice, making it that much more powerful.

There is also another reason to keep silent. To keep your time to yourself... We need lots of time to study the ritual, to read the books, to do the necessary inner work, to commune with the other beings etc... If you start to talk about this you will quickly find out how this eats away from the time you put to your Magick. It's fine to talk about it with genuinely interested people occasionally; but otherwise you simply don't have the time or the inclination to do so. I have seen Magick as a way of self transformation. The great work as it pertains to individuation. I’ve learned from stoicism that the outer world is out of our control so I focus only on the inner. Fantastic video. Another thing to note: silence helps to keep something sacred. So if a secret (such as the ceremonies and symbols of a magical lodge) is kept secret, it becomes sacred if it is held in that light by the members. Even if the symbol or ceremony has no significance to the world at large, secrecy turns it into a sort of sacred secret or tradition that holds a level of energy because of that sacred energy that is maintained.

When I was young, there was a popular children's character called Tom the cabin boy (in Captain Pugwash). PiZLe are you entirely sure about this? I thought the same for a long time until I had an experience with other individuals present that witnessed the same exact thing. This led me to believe that Theurgy was more than just a form of askesis and a way of tapping into the subconscious mind. These other individuals were completely ignorant on such matters and yet they witnessed the same things as I. I too have read plenty of Jung and manly p hall, Algis Uzdavinys as well as many others; stay away from this shit.

To anyone reading this, Take Magic as a metaphysical concept an idea that is given power through your intent and understanding. No one can teach you this, simply due to the fact they will never know what its like to be you. Your perceived struggles, pains, desires and passions. The fact that there are so many hucksters, pretenders, and wanna-bees out there, who really don't know anything, and are simply trying to ride the current neo-pagan trend for self-interest and personal gain, doesn't help either. Good, solid information is hard to come by... especially when any fool with an internet connection can claim to be a a priest, shaman, or druid. Add to that the fact that MOST of the information concerning the "old ways" are either outright lost - or Christianised to the point of uselessness - and finding a proper working path is all but impossible. I have personally given up trying to teach anybody anything, simply because I'm tired of having to wade through all the bullshit and nonsense that most people seem to gravitate to. ...I'm also pretty fed-up with people coming at me either wanting a love spell or curse, then turning around and wanting to undo it when it works, but doesn't come with the results they delusionally believed it would. Actions - and spells - come with consequences, kiddies. So be damned sure you're prepared for 'em before you wade off into something you know next to nothing about.

I think that rule of silence is golden. Every person has their own journey that's only for them. If everyone had all the keys to every door would they open them or resist the temptation? I am proud to be a witch but don't tell people I work with my practice nor do I open my books up to others. The journey to acquire any magical knowledge is a lifetime and what you learned should stay with you only. I totally get the lower self reminded the higher to eat,take a bath,ect. So I've spent the better part of a week, typically before bed but lately just during the day when I have time, watching your videos. I just want to thank you for producing what I have to say is the most easy to understand explanations for things regarding magic and mysticism that I've ever encountered. Many Native American tribes believed in "dreams of power", and held that such dreams must not be shared with others for at least a certain length of time, at minimum. To share it with others somehow dilutes its power. Their shamans believe that such dreams, and the power they bring to the Dreamer, must be allowed to "cook" for the full benefit to be obtained. Failure to do so may result in a loss of power, and even some kind of "spiritual backlash" or a turn of bad luck (a "magickal backfire", from a Western perspective). What we call "magick" in the West mostly boils down to an attempt to dream reality in a desired direction whilst awake, by breaking down the partition between the waking and the unconscious mind. Regarding the quantum mechanics mention, yes! I tried to tell some people on reddit they shouldn't tell everyone what their desired manifestations were because then strangers would all be throwing their energy (which may be highly contrasting or negative) at their manifestation, which could shake or delay it if they weren't 💯 solid on what they were drawing. I found isolation to be key for energy development, not just from the masses, but also to specific locations for extended retreats; water sources, forestry/tree tops total darkness or candle lightings. I feel guided lifelong by it, though I don't want to taint anything with new perceptions, that I'm still learning, to be definitive. The saying "Focus on the spirit and not the form." is undeniably true to me. Silence the mind and one can be taught, BE learned.

Forest tree tops are fun, I learn to follow safety guide lines. Nothing to spread fire, hide your light source to avoid location. And tie yourself properly to the tree so you don't fall out and injure yourself. Trench your site to create two to three foot thick dirt safety walls to protect yourself from gunfire or arrows, and shrub/ hedge wall in front of the trench to keep others from falling in. From pass experience it is no safe to camp in the forest during hunting season, then you still have to deal with year around dumb azzes. I was sleeping on a tree house plat form one night and a raccoon hunter put a shot gun blast through my floor just missing my head and that happen out of hunting season.

It's always been a best idea to understand silence secrecy and the sacredness of the craft, having and using a journal, and vs talking about what you may feel you need or want to as an upcoming youth early in the game.. My instinct told me this when I first began practicing - have shared a bit with a close friend who has a love of occult history without going into much detail, but afterwards felt as if I shouldn’t have for the exact reason you described! Some people just simply aren't ready that's why. If they were they'd show interest as well. But even in magical circles of people they can get lost as well in all the side stuff. Having experienced some forms of enlightenment through mushrooms, These higher states can be alarmingly scary for people. Having a sense of oneness and being not separate from the outside world is terrifying for the first time if your not ready. This makes a lot of sense. Oftentimes the goals we set for ourselves cannot be communicated appropriately unless the person you confide with can co-imagine your vision. Sharing with others your hopes and dreams can be like like giving people a technology they have no idea how to use, so rather than a positive reception, ignorance takes over and may counteract the very intention of a better future.

I’ve definitely read here and there and agreed with the writer, that saying goals aloud can sometimes stall the process. As well as the person your telling developing their own expectations, ultimately picking away at motivation. However, I hadn’t read nor was I even aware that endorphins were being released all the same. That’s very interesting because I have a degree in psychology, and either I missed that somewhere along the way, or it wasn’t something discussed. It makes so much sense. I believe humans are innately inquisitive/nosey lol Especially when it comes to people that care about each other. So loved ones or friends will be quick to ask a person what their plan is or what the end result of situation will be. This can be one instance where, “mind your business”, can be a positive instead of a negative thing to say. Just said with a smile. 😜
