I've been contact juggling since 2009 and everything Leon read in those comments is 100% true. It's incredibly hard to do that clean. What he was doing in the video was what's called "isolations" where you move your hands around the ball, which is very heavy, to make it appear like it's floating. A standard 4 inch acrylic that he's using in the video is 1.5 pounds, and my 5 inch acrylic is 2.5 pounds. I preferred the other side to contact juggling, body rolls, where you roll the ball along your arms, chest, and even head. But it has the same floating effect since you can't see it roll, so it looks like it's just gliding up and down your arms. The beauty of contact juggling is most of the stuff he did in the video is technically really simple, lots of "beginner" things in there, stuff you'd learn in your first week. But he did them all extremely clean, which takes actual years to smooth it out like that. Even the smallest bumps ruin the illusion, and he had very little bumps. One last thing, that is not fushigi. Fushigi is a terrible type of ball used for contact juggling, nothing more. It was also the worst thing to happen to the artform and caused me to quit for years.

It's a fushigi ball or something similar right? So it has a counterweight in the inside that's less dense than the outer shell
@markconigliaro3 жыл бұрын
@@jz3572 Read the last thing I said, it's not a fushigi that he's using (anyone serious about contact juggling would never use a fushigi ball). But it sounds like your thinking about it too much, "counterweight" and "less dense" doesn't mean anything, well density kind of does because it's easier to contact juggle with heavier objects, which helps in making a fushigi ball the worst kind of ball to use. You can contact juggle with any kind of sphere, an orange, a billiards ball, a basketball. Most contact juggling is done with a solid sphere of acrylic. Contact juggling balls are just perfect spheres with no markings, that's it, no tricks or physics needed. If you rotate a perfect sphere with no markings, you can't tell it's rotating, which is what the guy in the video is doing. If you put a dot on the ball you'd see it moving all over the place. Which is another point against fushigi because the center ball is not perfectly centered so you can see it wobble as it rotates, and also that center ball has a big seam going around it so you see that move around too. It's literally worthless as a contact juggling ball.

I believe the crystal ball thing is real. I had a friend that used to do that in high school not quite as well as the guy in the video but if you practice the time, it’s really impressive and people can do it. yeah, as any trick, or skill, or puzzle or something, it takes time to perfect. i love leon's skepticism online, it's what gives him his charm, plus his rage, but sometimes, cmon now, you're doubting everything these crystal ball showcases are real and fucking sick, i love them man, looks like magic
@markconigliaro3 жыл бұрын
I've been contact juggling since 2009 (my profile picture is with my acrylic) and those comments Leon read were 100% true. It's all "real" and acrylics are heavy as hell. Them being heavy actually makes the illusion better (and easier to do) because tiny movements will ruin the illusion but since it's so heavy, it's hard to move it in the first place. Imagine pushing a ping pong ball vs a bowling ball. If you move a bowling ball 2 inches and use the same amount of force on a ping pong ball, the ping pong ball is flying across the room. So you can more accurately move the bowling ball. In the video, what the guy is doing is a subset of contact juggling called "isolations". There's another subset called body rolling, which is more of what I was into, but my isolations were very solid. This guy has incredibly solid isolations, and even some moves I've never seen before (a lot of that was pretty standard stuff, but VERY clean).

FUSHIGI!
@inyrui3 жыл бұрын
It's a fushigi haha had one as a kid
@markconigliaro3 жыл бұрын
@@inyrui It's not a fushigi. Fushigi was a brand of ball used for contact juggling. Most contact juggling is done with solid acrylic balls (what you see in the video) or rubber/plastic balls because acrylic balls will bounce and break everything when you drop them, so the rubber balls are usually practice balls. The main difference with a fushigi ball is it has another chrome ball inside it. It was made that way because acrylic balls are also big magnifying glasses and very easily cause fires if left in direct sunlight (I have friends who started campfires with their acrylics), so the chrome ball prevents that. The problem is the chrome ball is often not centered absolutely perfectly, so if the guy in the video was doing the exact same thing but with a fushigi, you'll see the chrome ball wobbling around and ruining the illusion. Also a fushigi is a 3 inch diameter sphere, while most contact jugglers use 3.5 at least, with 4 being preferred (the guy in the video uses 4 inches). Size matters a lot in contact juggling because it's easier to work with when it's big and heavy, and since the fushigi has a hollow chrome ball inside it, it's even lighter than a normal solid 3 inch acrylic ball. I have a fushigi ball only to demonstrate to people I teach how awful a ball it is compared to an actual contact juggling acrylic.

Sending the Lush Ohana copious amounts of love & aloha from Honolulu! Nirvana knows that nowadays we all could use more of both in our lives! 😁❤🤙🌈☀🌋 (just Hawai'i symbols)

Dare I say Mrs. Lush, who was always a beautiful woman, is now reaching Goddess/Leon is not worthy status!😁
@SeanShimamoto3 жыл бұрын
@@yeahright9001 I agree with you that she's a beautiful woman, but Leon's lost quite a bit of weight too and at 6'3" and good bone structure, Leon's a good looking dude. I think that they're one of the best looking couples out there (of course excluding the vain & often dangerously unhealthy "fitness" people who call themselves "influencers") who are just normal, down to earth, real and relatable people. Back to Mrs. Lush, I think another reason she comes across so well is that in addition to being beautiful, she doesn't take herself too seriously. For example, she doesn't get bent out of shape when Leon calls her "dude"...I know some chicks who get bent over that, but not Mrs. Lush. She'll also engage with Leon when it comes to fart jokes and often laughs at herself. But the most endearing thing, at least IMO, is when Leon points out her shortcomings, she admits that he's right and she doesn't get all defensive like I've seen a lot of other women get. I think those things all contribute to a person's attractiveness. Similarly, Leon can laugh at himself, he often stands up for minorities, but also isn't afraid to say when some minorities abuse their minority card(s)...and as a double minority, I appreciate both his support, and his criticisms 'cause I do think sometimes people abuse their minority card(s). Anyway, have a great weekend and sending some aloha from Honolulu. 😁🤙

The hay bales get into a block like that because they use a baler, a machine that eats up the grass that is already cut and dry and poops out a bale, which is why you will see farms with bales scattered all over the field. Some balers make these brick-shaped bales and some make cylindrical bales. The farmers then either go and pick them up with bale forks and a tractor or front loader or if they're really fancy they'll have an autoloader which is a trailer they pull behind the tractor that automatically grabs the bales and stacks them.

Foot/ankle tattoos gotta hurt waaaaay worse than arms. Anything done around tendons or bone hurts way worse, the muscle/fat usually helps to cushion the vibrations. Laser removal is slightly different, but it's just deteriorating the ink to smaller chunks your body can carry away. But, essentially, the pain is your body telling you it's a dangerous spot to have tissue damaged in

The crystal ball isn’t camera tricks, that’s just a ton of practice. I used to have a couple friends that did it many years ago, but they weren’t as good as this guy. You roll the ball across you fingers and hand and with practice you can get to where it looks like the ball is staying still while you’re moving around it. It’s really really neat. I often see it being done at the local Ren Fair as those are the types of people around here who tend to get into that sort of thing. It’s cool though and takes a lot of skill.

As soon as the power washer came up I knew we were gonna get to hear that Mrs Lush's motha owns the power washer in the family. Tomato King just gets to borrow it. I went the extra mile and watched the contact juggling portion on my TV because even I wasn't positive, and I'm pretty familiar with those toe crushing balls of Satan. What clued me in was at least once in the routine he had both hands off of the ball. If anyone rewatches it, you'll see the ball drops hella fast. (Plus, he's doing both contact juggling and Pop & Lock movement, and the ball is getting some killer light bounce from the street lamp and the snow. Dude is talented AF. If I even attempted that I'd probably break a hip or some shiz.) Lastly, until I switched to my TV, I legit thought that Leon was wearing a "Miss Saigon" t-shirt and I was really fvcking confused. Dope shirt either way.
