Some of the newer tranny coolers have tiny lines, so you do have to find the older bigger stuff, so it doesn't restrict flow. But honestly.... around here Square Body Chevy's are still dang near everywhere, and 3/4 - 1 tons all came standard with the oil cooler, so I snag them up every time I see them with the lines. They screw right into these Ford adapters as well.

Yessir, hit it right on the head! Surprised that motorhome one you yarded wasn't hooked up. The Ford gasser Big-Job trucks would have these too. There were a lot of oddities about the 460s that came in the vans and motorhomes. Lots of unique stuff. That goes for the 351Ws in some too. Great Video Kim!

Thanks Oly! Surprised me as well, you would think they would've set this up for a lot of "sit & idle under load" like the big-job-trucks. The Fairlane won't have this though..... it sticks the filter right into the sway-bar, or lower control arm... lol.

That's cool! My 340 in the demon has a 90 degree adapter but the mopars don't have the oil cooling capability! Ford had a better idea there! Great video! Thanks for sharing!

As I was doing this I was racking my brain trying to think of a Mopar that has this too.... but came up blank. I'm sure they have it, but can't think of any that do. Fords.... you have to look hard for the Cooler part.... but Square Body Chevy's where standard equipped with both the adapter and cooler. Everytime I'm at I-Pull I look at all the Chevy's for that cooler and the lines, because they screw right into these Ford Adapters as well.

Totally agree..... and if they are used.... clean, clean, clean, and clean them 10 more times before you stick them on. Same with the cooler itself.

Got it setup in the Bronco and works. If you want to have more control of your cooling use electric pusher and puller fans instead of the stock clutch fan. Will give you more room to work the front end of the motor when in the vehicle. Givem hell at the meet.

Oh yeah.... you go back to Bill Stroppe's "Bronco Invasion" in '68 and you see all of his trucks had these on them. And Stroppe was the Shelby of Fords Off-Road back in the day!

You know I was planning on getting rid of mine completely to get an auxiliary set up so I can get rid of the coolant to oil cooler side but I see how I can make this work for a stack cooler now

What years had that adapter? My 93 has an oil/coolant heat exchanger. I don't know which is better in my climate.

Hello there thanks for stopping by. This one is off a 1977 Ford E350 (motorhome) with the bbf 460, but it's pretty much the same through the 80's. Hope that helps

Sweet! I'm pretty positive you will be very happy with it! Oh... I think I mentioned this in one of the comments.... did you also buy the better Gauge & Valve set up? The one that comes with it (for free) is really really cheap. If you are going to use the one that comes with it, Soap it down with some Dawn Dish Soap to check for leaks. Mine actually leaked out of the box, and I had to take it back. But ONLY take back the Gauge Set! Because when I did that, the guy at HF gave me that Olsen Brand one (that is actually a really good set) to replace it. Anyway here's that video kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJTFgKapr56Drqs and thanks man!

Oh yeah, so long as you have room. A lot of times Ford will have this on there to make room for the crossmember. On this 58 Fairlane.... I'll run without it because it puts it in the way of the bottom control arm. hope that helps and thanks for stopping by man.
