All good idea's but personally i would buy a cheap 2nd hand under counter fridge circa £20 of ebay. An ITC Inkbird which is a temperature controller with 2 plugs sockets one for heat one for cool. Then buy a cheap 1ft tube greenhouse heater. Drill small hole (carefully) in side of fridge for Heater wire. Place heater in bottom of fridge make wooden shelf with pre- drilled holes for Fermenter tub to sit on. Plug both fridge and heater into Inkbird , set at 22c with a variation of 0.5c and it will maintain the right temp, no worries.Cost of all fridge circa £20 Inkbird £29.99 Heater circa £10 all off ebay. Happy days.P.S Remember to stick a bit of bubble wrap to side of fermenter so as to place the temp probe in so your taking the reading of the wash and not the interior of the fridge. To confirm temp place sticky thermometer on side of fermenter bucket.

I have a bulldog bad cat on four days now and had temp fluctuations, had a sniff of the airlock and got "banana smell" hopefully it will be still drinkable, I'll add the hop teabags late just before I transfer to the PB!!!

He’s probably talking about secondary fermentation in bottles, which I suppose isn’t really secondary fermentation.

For 63 dollars U.S. you can get a Samaritan heater or aquarium heater that does 80 to 130 gal perfect temperature

If you look in the pet goods section in any dept store you will find fish tank immersion heaters that are relatively cheap, I have been using them successfully for a number of years in my fermenters, ensure you buy the fully submersible heaters. Cheers from Australia
