About the net and how it damages scales of betta fish, there's this net designed for betta that scoops a little bit of water along with the fish so its scale won't be damaged. I got one shipped from Japan and they're fantastic.

Nice Videos mate. I'm from Sydney and I breed Bettas. Tip: Add Indian Almond Leaves to the growout tanks and tiny pieces of these leaves in the jarring cups. They colorup fast when these leaves release Tannins in the water and grow healthy.

Indian Almond leaves extract will help with the color mutations. I boil mine and make it into an extract keep in the fridge and it cab last for months. We do what we call hard talisay method which just simply means putting extract until the water is almost dark brown in color. It works best for multi color bettas and marbles

@CrowntailHalfmoon3 жыл бұрын
Beautiful bettas Nick. Excellent job raising them.👍 Just sharing some general info and not too in depth. Samurai bettas is just a marketing strategy for an incomplete dragonscale betta. Samurai is usually a helmet mask with the upper back covered with dragonscale. However as these are incomplete dragonscale by breeding thrm you do get more dragonscale coverage making them look closer to original species. Imo main reason why some have incomplete dragonscale is becz from outcross to non dragonscale types to reduce the tumor growths. If your dragonscale red and black are pure you would get mostly dragon type bettas with varying scale coverage. The bettas your having problems to identify are from the galaxt koi spawns they are throwbacks to the original parents used. Galaxy is from cross dragonscale into koi line. Koi are generally marbles so any marble types that are seen can be from that unpredictable genetics. Even solid bicolors like blue body red fins are throwbacks of the koi varieties. Hope this helps. Cheers....

A betta bite? I worked at Petco for many years and they used to run sales all of the time for Blind Cave Tetras. Every week, I'd get 50 of them, even though I didn't sell any for the previous few months. I had 2 tanks teeming with them. I hated cleaning them because they would swarm and attack my hand and arm. Hundreds of little pinches up to my elbow. I'd have little red marks all over my arms.
