Concerning the bathtub water (yes, the most pressing issue in this episode, I know...), in Japan, all the members in a household share the same bathwater every evening. It is kept very very hot and usually has an automated censor that literally speaks to you and tells you when it's ready. Before anyone can get into the bath water, they must first shower. The shower is located in the same room as the tub, but not in the tub like western style baths/showers. After you clean yourself with a shower, you can then enter the tub and take a relaxing bath, often for up to an hour. Finally, you shower again to rinse off the bathwater. The End.

Asuka during the breakdown is being shown herself. Since she is a *narcissist*, she decides she can't handle this, and she breaks down into pieces. Not being able to look at the worse version of herself.

She probably doesn’t have narcissism, since it has been shown that she does care about others. She more likely has some form of ptsd, probably C-PTSD, since the symptoms are much closer aligned to how she behaves.

Not sure if you're simply joking or not, but the name of Longinus is pulled directly from the Christian faith, being the name of the Roman soldier who pierced Jesus in the side with a lance as he was being crucified. It does sound like such a silly name, though, so I can't blame you for laughing. Reminds me of Biggus Dickus from Monty Python's Life of Brian.

I wish I can say I gave the entire new dub an honest shot. But when I heard they redubbed the series I skipped straight to this episode (I went back afterwards and watched the first episode to get a feel of shinjis and everyone's voices and let tell that was whole new can of worms) skipped to asuka's breakdown pretty much lost all faith in it.Netflix really butchered this episode. Well they butchered the whole series but this episode is my absolute favorite. Asuka's breakdown is my absolute favorite moment and the voice actress didn't even do a tenth of the effort that Tiffany Grant did.

To me this is the worst episode which upsets me because in the original dub to this was my favorite episode it truly terrified me and made be feel a level of fear and pain I had never experienced in any form of media. The rewrites and acting is so bad it doesn’t even try to make itself well itself where the original thrived with its translation from the original this one try to be exact even though the Japanese is much more technical with its words having different meanings why not look at the original dub and get your translation from that.this new dub is a tragedy for the show I’m so glad I have the original

Holy fock. I guess Netflix IS number one at butchering good anime series either with awful dub or with horrible movie adaptations (hello Nextflix Deathnote). I underestimated them, they ARE number one.
