I had a 38mm pwk kehine carb spent weeks trying to jet it, watches hundreds of videos on carbs and how to tune never was able to get it. I found the lectron carb and also watched hundreds of videos on it and it was supposed to help exactly what was wrong and it did after a little bit of work

Ive tuned on a ton of different two strokes over the years, and your explanation of the difference between the sounds of lean or rich was spot on. They make pwk 28,33,35,39,41. Ive had them all. Great carbs. Another HUGE factor in jetting is the mtr build itself.. (dome design/porting...) Ive fought and fought on jetting a particular mtr(and the engine builder) for weeks. I spent hundreds of dollars on just about ever needle they make and it still ran like a turd. Turned out the dome design was horrible.... long story short, your have to have a total package to truly tune a two stroke

missed y'all saturday driver,,good to hear from you today. Makes sense on the carb for dragging or riding woods. Kinda like the engine ,,you really dont want a high strung ,up on the pipe for woodsy shit compared to running a quarter drag run. excess power for both but controllable. Does that make sense? I gotta fuckin go!

Dont burn up engines! If your experimenting with jetting do plug chops. Check out south texas banshee. He has a video on doing plug chops with a hole saw. Id rather spend 100 bucks on a box of plugs than hundreds or thousands on a motor. And by the way. Kiehin has pwks starting at 28mm and goes up in the 40s.

I'm late to the party, you sell that Lectron yet? I'm building another Zilla, so I may be interested. I've run both, I find the Lectron to be convenient when you're changing elevations often, say from 350' to around 7500'. I know the PWK will do this as well but when you drive 2 days from Ohio to Wyoming it's hard to not just do what you know instead of loosing a day to tuning.

Love your videos Justin! This is a very long comment but hope you have the time to read it because I think it might convince you. If there’s one thing I could recommend you try out, it would be to try a TE SmartCarb. They are all made to specific order just like the Lectron but that’s where the similarities start to end between the two. I ordered a 40mm SmartCarb SC2 for my CR500R and I’m really impressed with it in every way. The only thing I had to adjust was the idle and that literally was all I had to do. They absolutely nailed the tuning out of the box. The thing runs like a bat out of Satan’s fiery butthole. Runs really crispy with the fastest, most lighting quick throttle response I’ve ever felt out of any well tuned carbs I’ve owned. As far as power goes, comparing (for example) between a 38mm SC2 to a 38mm Lectron, you’ll make more power with the SC2 since the bore behind the slide is actually smaller by 4mm for some reason on the Lectron (for 38mm models at least). From what I’ve seen as far as benefits over a Lectron is that it has no power jet (just a metering rod), it only has one hose running off of it which is for draining the float bowl (the carb itself is internally vented), the choke is on the right (left) side, and it actually adjusts itself for all altitudes with the air scoop that is found at the top of the venturi bell which regulates air going into the float bowl based on air temp/pressure/density and it also allows that same high speed air in the scoop to pressurize the fuel in the float bowl which is also how it manages to get enough fuel squirted out of the metering rod like a fuel injector, thus not needing a power jet. I’ve tested my bike anywhere from a few feet above sea level to high enough mountain elevations to where I would need to retune a normal carb and it ran perfect no matter where I went. There was even a SmartCarb that was tested on a 50cc U.A.V. at 22,000 feet which I felt was pretty impressive. Being $700, I was personally skeptical of buying one until I tried it and I can safely say hands down it’s the best $700 (let alone money) I’ve spent on any of my bikes. If I ever come out to any of the events you go to in the future, I’d definitely let you ride my bike to feel how it acts. I’d let Sabo ride it too. Thank you for reading this if you did and keep up the great content!

Justin, I've been running lectron carbs for many years now. I have seen them on quads and dirtbikes and I'm not 100% sure I agree with that. However, them bastards are the best of the best when it comes to dragbikes!
@andrewengland9714 жыл бұрын
That’s not a drag carb. A lot of 2stroke bikes use it for better lugability. On a 2 stroke dirt bike the lectron can really wake it up low end. Fuel mileage will for sure be better on a dirt bike. It’s not for everyone. I’m new to carbs. My raptor is efi. Lectron seems nice to me
@BigWiesell2 жыл бұрын
The Lectron doesn’t have as much low-end grunt as a normal carb. I’ve got both on my ‘15 KTM 300 XC, and for steep technical, the Kehein is superior. The Lectron still needs adjusting with elevation changes, so I just went back to the Kehein. I know how to adjust the metering rod, and how to adjust needles/jets; the Lectron isn’t as good as the hype, in my opinion.

"i dont look at plugs" lmao . dude a plug will tell you a lot about how a 2 stroke is running . its not right spreading wrong information . thats whats wrong with all the forums . along with the "all 2 stroke oils are the same" was wrong also . not all 2 stroke oils are the same . just like the "i run oxygenated fuel because it makes the most power" . you was wrong about that also . im trying to hate man dont get me wrong . im just trying to help by saying youre wrong .

@@joshbeck289 spark plugs are different as far as temperature ranges etc but a plug chop will still forever tell you what’s up black= too much fuel white= lean as hell stop and up your flow rates before you melt something & brownish/ tan= becomes optimal so let the extremely fine tuning begin if it matters…for a woods bike that’s good enough there for a track bike that’s just the beginning…

2023 lectron billetron has choke left side, stock cables work now, thumb screws to get slide off no tools to get to the metering rod. Pro version now has a low rpm metering circuit for even more low end and they do not claim better fuel economy bc now its making more power. Supposedly they are so good for single track and low rpm now they are buying back H series like -$250 credit towards move into Billitron. Ehtanol in fuel is increasing and jets are becoming more of a problem than ever. Took my pwk off that was sitting for 5 weeks and the fuel left in jets were already gelling up...trash. unless your racing and/or running ethanol free sunoco or vp doesnt seem worth babysitting jets. On top of that there are now china man fake Keihins floating around from amazon and fleabay kids are putting them on bikes and gocarts thinking they are # 'winning' saving $200 over a real keihin....just spend 600-700 and ride. Kids dont wanna learn to jet when other kids are wasting them on $5k surron electrics having fun lol.
