British politics has always had an air of theatre about it, given its adversarial nature.
@randyjones30502 жыл бұрын
A big difference is that the Congress was originally envisioned as being a collegial body and not adversarial. That's why the House and Senate chambers are semi-circle shaped and not a bench design as in the U.K. Parliament. The intention was to encourage deliberative discussion rather than screaming matches between different party factions. Many of the framers of the U.S. constitution had a distaste for party politics and wanted to avoid bitter partisanship in government. Unfortunately, reality turned out much different than the original vision. However, that original seed of collegiality is still baked into the culture of the Congress which is why their debates are generally much more restrained than debates in governments with parliamentary systems.

It's a bit of a show when a government has to legislate against those who object to it's behaviour and then blames the opposition for not making progress. She is barking mad and by that I mean rabies. Will she be sacked next week and blamed for all that that's gone wrong? A sort of poisonous fresh start in the making perhaps. As the country falls apart all she seems to want to do is play with her train set. Mad, bonkers and dangerous.

No. They are leeches. They have been striving for decades and causing the TfL to inflate their wage unrealistically and refusing to slowly allow the TfL to automate it’s lines. Now we have an energy crisis. So much energy is needed to keep stations open, more than any Labour mind can imagine. Everytime they strike, we lose millions. The government has to come in and provide more money. Now if the TfL goes bust, we lose billions. They are not workers in the sense you believe but have put us in a very tough position. Our homeless crisis is partially sorted whilst the stations run as they provide warmth to the homeless. There’s many more factors. You need to see the bigger picture
