This is probably the hardest SoS quest to join into imo, especially the Black Blazing Twilight special assignment quest one. This is the one quest where you really have to look at the quest details before joining the quest to have an idea of what you're getting into; such as time elapsed and the equipment the randoms are bringing.

I've seen so many lightbreak weapons against alatreon lately. Yesterday I even saw a defender hammer 😂 I joined a quest that had just started. I'm about to jump down when the other two guys appear behind me. I thought they just waited for a full party before jumping into the fight. We go in, 1 of them dies quickly and we're on our last cart already 😅 I joined a random lobby and asked if anyone needed help. Someone asked me to do alatreon and I said sure. I can do enough damage for 2 people. Didn't realise they SoSed until other people showed up. First guy that joins gets hit, immediately at 1 hp and leaves. Second guy that joins and the host barely do any damage and we wipe. I was gonna say let's go again without the sos, but the host immediately ragequit the lobby 😂 Playing with randoms is such an adventure sometimes. You never know what you're gonna get.

@@vreeze33 accurate. I’ll never know why the MR requirement is so low. Hunters are going into this fight thinking Alatreon is a normal monster.

@GodEater015 I guess they don't want people to quit before they get access to the best monsters. It gives people a reason to get to 100 mr if they're struggling. The problem with the blast weapons is also largely on how the information about the quest is designed. If you're not watching videos about it then people probably don't know how important elemental weapons are until they die.

omg you looking at everyone's set in an alatreon hunt is so relatable! i used to play support horn using alatreon's hh, but one time someone berated me for playing the blight negated song because it took away his coalesence, and ever since that i check people's set for coalesence beforehand if i use hunting horn. but i just never do anymore mostly bc of that

@@caliginousmoira8565 yeah it was on pc and we were both at mr999. i have social anxiety so im always scared of being a nuisance esp to strangers so that interaction was a core memory that still haunts me on every game i play😬 but i guess to be fair, maybe i should instantly know that high lvl players would use coalesence esp for alatreon considering that my usual alatreon db build has max coalesence. but to be fair to me, if you want to speedrun then play by yourself and don't use sos flare💀 i never bitch abt someone using blight negate/anything that takes away my damage bc i know im playing with randoms

@@Aykalia mee i use coalesence for my usual db build esp against alatreon 😔☝️ but still, i get my fair share of ppl playing blight res/negated song during ala hunt, and im fine with it! my goal is to help a lower rank hunter finally finish an alatreon hunt and have fun with random strangers, i dont care if they took away 5% of my damage, I'm not speedrunning! if we fail ej ill do a frame perfect abandon quest and if we succeed, well lets kill the dragon! if you want to speedrun play by yourself and dont shoot sos flares💀

There's one item that's saved many a friend and random I used when running Wide Range support sets Great Sushifish Scale - basically a quick munch Mega Potion. Pair with Free Meal 3 and Speed Eating 3, you can pop someone from low to full in like, 3 or 4 seconds. Drawback of only being able to hold up to 5, but definitely worth their weight in gold from the sheer mileage they can get

From my experience, Dawn’s Triumph is ALWAYS harder with random’s than doing the main hunt. Even in Blazing Black Twilight, usually they have some idea of how the fight works but just lack the damage to get it done. But Dawn’s Triumph….yeah I think these are people who didn’t really try too long with the first quest and are paying the price now😅

people don't know how to heal. vet's blame the defender armor but it's the fact they always call the palico to heal them. 99% of sos' i join don't know how to heal. if they do heal they use lifepowder. they will take the potions out of the chest and never use them. people on pc get pissed because I didn't heal them while taking agro and they are just running around in circles. i actually hate playing world on pc.

Uno, I think you should really try Monster Hunter World Resurgence’s Abiogladius. Resurgence is hands down the best modding team on World, and I know you’re not big about mods, but this is just a suggestion. Abiogladius is the perfect mix of Anjanath, Glavenus, and Deviljho. Also I think the thumbnail is absolutely hilarious and sums up every Alatreon fight in a nutshell.

If you play on PC there is a mod that removes the steam region lock and lets you find more SOS flares. It's called better matchmaking.

Thats one thing I really hate about Alatreon flares. the host for some reason 90% of the time starts the fight on their own and when I finally get there they either didnt pass elemental check or didnt break the horns.

@ if I was told correctly the timer for escaton doesn’t start till you first aggro. Let me just say that in the last 1-2 years of almost everyday helping flares every alatreon where the host waited we never failed the dps check. I could be wrong and it just be insane luck so don’t take my word as gospel.

Heyyy great hunting!! I was doing the nerfed alatreons trying to learn how to fight it the other day and was getting absolutely STOMPED. I'll be getting up to MR100 and getting a health regen weapon augment before trying again OTL. Outside of "Did you survive Escalon Judgement" is there any tells that youve passed DPS checks?

almost all new hunters run raging brachy weapons to fight alatreon. because attack/crit is king. element gets no love.
