We used to go to IHOP every Christmas Eve morning as kids. One year we sat behind a man with a white beard and glasses… so naturally my kid brother and I thought he was Santa Claus. My parents made sure that we “didn’t bother Santa, as he had a big night ahead of him” so we left this poor man alone to eat his breakfast in peace… only for us to find out that he had paid for our meal for us when he left!!! We saw the manager of that IHOP every year and she always told us that she had never seen “Santa” again… I s2g Christmas magic brought to you by IHOP, I’ll never forget it

And the word Dutch got the same root as Deutch (Dutch Pensylvanians are of German decent), so the were on the right track linguistically there. I am pretty sure that it means someting like 'the people'. I wouldn't be surprised if Dutch came into use before the people really started seeing themselves as one country, much like they would say they were from Holland instead of the Nethelands (reason why in some languages the word for the Netherlands is closer to Holland than The Netherlands in sound (most sailors came from Holland)). Also, I think the area (roughtly the whole BeNeLux) was already called The Netherlands before a lot of the reclaiming happened? I think it was partly a reference to it being both low and flat (no real mountains). That low area. Can't be sure, but I think they used it long before the 80 years war and Leeghwater is from that time era.

It's genuinely dangerous. The meat in steak tartare is VASTLY different than the ground beef in a grocery store - it's kept in conditions specifically designed to keep it safe in a raw state and it's only ground right before eating. Even though I do it if I buy it, even eating grocery store ground beef medium rare is dangerous - the amount of bacteria that gets into store ground beef during processing is a significant amount. Just the fact that a single package of ground beef can have cuts from a dozen different animals makes the risk so much greater.

I've only watched the beginning up to Jared, and I am 100% satisfied with this eat the menu. Watching Jared get angry at bad avocado toast made my day.

I loved the energy with Ryann! I know there have been a few menu bummers but honestly kind of surprised by how many things y'all have liked so far (I am only 1/3 through the video lol)

The way this video started, it seems like it’s going to be a “mommy’s favorite” kind of episode 😂

Those of us who live is the Netherlands are Nederlanders and speak Nederlands within the country. English is the only language that uses "Dutch" to refer to the language. That being said, Nederlanders are known for being the top country for speaking English as a second language. (Also, Holland is split into 2 provinces of the country, north holland and south holland) 🧡🇳🇱
