@@BC08 If you need to sacrifice structural integrity of a part, and make it weaker just to degree the cams the inexpensive way, you're playing with fire. It doesn't take a metallurgist to figure out that cutting a keyway that is under constant stress, is going to break eventually. Not to mention a bolt isn't going to secure it perfectly, indefinitely, because guess what? Heat cycles affect bolts. Keep trying to defend stupidity, you're vastly outnumbered.

Paying a guy $13K to slap some pistons in a motor, put leaky used ebay valve covers on, file the keys, destroy the cams (from the filed keys), Not change any of the valve springs, and cost someone even more money isn't the guy you should hire to work on your engines. $13,000 should get you: New rods New Pistons New fasteners New rings, bearings (both rod and main) New valve springs Valves checked for leaks, replaced and lapped as needed New lifters and rockers New timing set All deck surfaces checked and machined if needed All gaskets replaced New oil pump And a full record of all work done, with tolerances, ring gap, bearing clearances, etc. This dude does about 3 hours worth the work and charges 13 grand for it.

DeWalt and Milwaukee are the same grade of tools 🤷🏽‍♂️ dewlats actually often more expensive than Milwaukee 😂 I used to be a huge dewalt guy when I got into the electrical trade back in 2009. Since then, Milwaukee has absolutely been killin it in the tool industry selling to regular guys. I have tons of tools in all different platforms. Dewalt has the best 3 speed drill and 1/4" drive impact, hands down. Milwaukee drill impacts are good for if you're a residential guy doing stick buildings and you need to drill 1/2 holes through wood all day, just not for devicing rooms out. I buy Milwaukee for most things now just because the warranty is solid. Dewalt stuff for alot of other things(their powerstack batteries are TOP dawg for every thing), and Ryobi for sh1t around the house I don't need to depend my lively hood on(battery lights, hand sanders, dumbstuff). So making fun of Dewalt just kind of shows someone's actual experience in the trades, just saying... that said, if you're smart now buy Milwaukee 😂

@@Andersonz_ Ford agrees, as they ran keyless on all 4Vs before 99 and only started bothering with keys when they downsized to the 10mm cam (from 12mm) bolts in 99. PS. Keyways are irrelevant, they are just slots machined in the part. The key is what the YoloDB amry is so concerned with. The more you know

2J's run great on a Holley. I tune 2 different ones using the stock cam/crank sensors and have used the stock non-vvti 12 tooth trigger as well as the vvti 36-2 tooth trigger without issue. One is a stock mains motor in a fox, other is a compound turbo billet mains motor in a 240sx. Both on Terminator X's without any kind of special sauce

These comments are wild 😆😂 I personally do all the work on my car myself, so i dont have to worry about questionable work being done to it (cant trust anyone anymore sadly) I'll take all the time in the world and do it, multiple times if i have to, and make sure its done right. Ill ask as many people with more experience than me for information, and ill siphon out what makes sense and what doesnt 🤷🏽‍♂️ i just did opg/cs, and installing the Roush phase 2 blower right now. I watch Alex's podcast, pay for the membership on just the channel, and i watch everything else too. The only dog i have in the fight is my coyote, and i just want to take care of it the best i can, learn the correct way to do so, and then share that information with everyone on my channel 🤷🏽‍♂️ all that said, cutting keys does not sound like the correct way to do that so i dont do it 😅 The drama in all of this is just a bonus, worth every penny 😂 toeachtheirownmyfriends🙏🏻

he charged someone known in the ford world 12k for a built engine but when the engine showed up it had multiple issues and various valvetrain parts that weren't refreshed. coop even had this known ford person on his podcast, crazy he didn't do his homework before having this "engine builer" on.
