Those Myford lathes look like a wonderful piece of machinery.

“Brass is fine until it tarnishes”. I found transparant lacquers especially for brass that prevent tarnishing, the one I use is heat resistant up to 200C and I found (but have not used yet) one that claims to be heat resistant up to 600C. So far I have decent results.

Where do you get your needle files from? I can't find any that last as mine wear down easily.

P M Research is, I believe, a US based company. I cannot believe the state of the flywheel the company sent you... it should have been thrown into the remelt bin! I'd have returned it for a replacement.

The engine was sent to me from a USA customer, and yes it was very poor, but I have no complaints as it made for an interesting video series.
