I like the color. Always satisfying to clean up an old machine. I have never seen Rustolium with that nozzle.

I used to dread the sound of a needle scaler. I spent the first 14 years of my working life in the Merchant Navy as an Engineer. I'd come off the 04:00 to 08:00 shift and head for the sack. The bosun, bless him, would have half a dozen of the seamen painting the accommodation block. You could guarantee two or three would have needle scalers and they would really be digging into the rust. Urrrrgggggghhhhhh.

Good morning, It’s amazing how a inexpensive oilite bushing can make something worn and sloppy, almost like new. Excellent work.

In Australia a lot of companies call that colour Pale Eucalypt. Its a good colour for sheds or outdoor electrical boxes and things like that, because it blends into the environment quite well. Disney is known for painting a lot of their "backstage" things a similar colour as its very easy for human eyes to ignore.

If you ever decide to spray a project, look into an inflatable paint booth. One of the best investments I made for painting small to medium sized projects. It sets up in under 5 minutes and deflates and packs up under ten. It would work for stripping items also because of the air supply system. Cheers

That makes sense. It might also be useful for managing toxic dust when removing lead paint or asbestos insulation during restoration of old equipment.

If you ever want to try a different paint, I can highly recommend Seymour Paint's MRO series (rattlecan). I used it to refinish my Clausing 8520 milling machine. I laid it over Rustoleum's automotive primer (also rattlecan). The MRO paint covers fantastically and covers a lot of surface due to the high solids content. You can cover large surfaces without drying streaks if you spray below 80F and stay in the shade. I could not get it to run. I'm a user who paid retail for every can. Keep up the great work, Keith.

I’m notorious for not using PPE when I’m working on projects. Had a wake up call the other day when I was cutting some flat stock with a cutting wheel on a hand grinder and caught my shop apron on fire. Switched to a leather one, and damned if I didn’t burn a hole in it! I like how you breezed though this video without showing every tedious operation. You covered a lot of ground and the video flew by. Enjoyed this one.

Keith, Your videos are great, informative and interesting. You've always done a great job with the audio, which is the most important part of just about any video. You've done a great job of turning the sound level down during loud operations and up to a good level for monologue and conversation. However, lately it's been the opposite. The sound quality has been so poor that it makes the videos just about unwatchable. I know this is your primary income now and I'd hate to see you lose watch time but it's getting to that point. Please fix it. Thanks.
@rexmyers9919 сағат бұрын
I don’t understand complaints about your audio. The playback sounds normal to me (and I’m 82). I do use headphones most of the time.

*- Keith, why did you not oil the shafts for smoother working and rust prevention?*
@joebetsygillespie791313 сағат бұрын
I like the green! On a separate topic... I would have thought you'd put some oil or grease on the different bar stock pieces that rotate inside the housings. Keeping them dry would seem to guarantee wear on the bushings, etc. Just a thought.
