Wegovy is a GLP-1 that is marketed for weight loss. It’s the same thing as Ozempic. There are also other GLP-1’s that are a available but just marketed as much. Doctors must need to prescribe the others if their patient can’t get Ozempic. Another obstacle people face is their insurance not paying for this class off drugs. I was lucky enough that Ozempic only cost me $22 a month out of pocket with insurance. We live in Hawai’i and have never experienced a shortage.

No they are not Wegovy and Monjaro are the same medications repackaged and approved for weight loss obesity and insulin resistance! They are about to approve for cardiovascular issues and high lipids. So do some research!

The reason I disagree is bc there are people who come right out & say what it is about whatever it is. Nose job, bbl, breast augmentation, face lift, botox. They don't have to say a word. In the end some get backlash but ultimately respect for their honesty. Then there are the others (Kardashians...now even Kelly & Oprah) that want to give an impression and even go as far to make others feel like losers. They say things like get your f'in lazy a$$ up or oh I'm being more disciplined & listening to my Dr or taking the drug is cheating. All while there doing the very thing. I lost alot of respect for Oprah bc her choice all these years was to be transparent about her weight loss journey. Then to lie. That's her right. I’m not sure why there are so many negative comments here on why she didn’t “admit” that she’s on medication. Sad that we can’t give celebrities grace where health is concerned. Furthermore, she said she was pre diabetic then waiting another 2 years before addressing it so, for all we know, she could have become full blown diabetic by then. So maybe she wasn’t taking it solely for weight loss but because she needed it medically. We’ve all heard of HIPAA - she doesn’t need to share her health issues. PLEASE EVERYONE - CAN WE PRACTICE GIVING CELEBRITIES SOME GRACE?

@@carrieb1414 i never said they weren't pretty, and yes technically based off BMI she would have been considered overweight and "unhealthy" needing real diet and exercise to actually make good changes to the body, taking medication for something you dont have is not healthy or helpful in anyway, the after affect could make things worse. What makes me mad is that these people are using the same diabetic drug that I use. There came a time when I couldn’t get it and had to do without while these celebrities were using it for a non medical reason. That’s just wrong.
