Kelly is the best host because she’s a singer herself and doesn’t ask unnecessary questions

I find her and Drew Barrymore very bad hosts but good guests. They are too used to talk about themselves as gusts. they make every interview about themselves.

@@Fouloul. True they seem like the same person in ways😆. Very likeable on both ends, but yeah they seem to be the personalities that are loud and like to be the center of attention in the room. Oh well, we're all different and have our different quarks and traits. I thought she did great with Selena.

The documentary really touched me. I think there was a bit of a missed opportunity to talk about trauma and traumatic stress as it relates to autoimmune diseases. I also don’t see her as bipolar she seemed more like chronic PTSD that is constantly triggered. Her team is very triggering too - they don’t understand what she’s going through. Edit: I should have been clearer... I totally don’t think I know more than her doctors and McClain is an amazing hospital. I would never normally tell someone about their diagnosis or diseases - I was sharing from my viewpoint as audience to her documentary and with the insight of multiple autoimmune diseases and mental health conditions - they all interact and particularly things like Chronic PTSD (Complex in presence of child abuse), Bipolar, Borderline, DID w inflammatory autoimmune disease like Lupus (Neurolupus, SLE...) MS, CRPS, Crohns, IBS, allergies, Arthritis etc. What was shown in the doc wasn’t a typical portrayal of bipolar from my understanding of it, which is not a bad thing. It reminded me of my experience with chronic PTSD. Sometimes I think moving away from diagnosis/labels in general can be a good thing. Mental health is just health. Your brain is an organ like your liver. No medicine, or diagnosis could fix my autoimmune diseases without my taking control and recognizing my sensitivities, and doing the work like DBT, CBT, Mindful movement, breath work, meditation, dietary changes, etc. I had to relearn how to live similarly to how Selena has had to. It would have been cool to see more of her talking about inflammation, and how health and mental health are the same thing. It is all connected and they all interact w each other, was all I was trying to say.

I also don't think that Rachel is a good friend to her. When they were in Quenia Selena said that she wanted to stay there forever and Rachel said that this wasn't reality. I think that if Selena wants to leave the spotlight and live a normal life she can. Lots of famous people did this. We would miss her, but also her fans would be happy to her have a calm life that she wants to. And also when she said that Selena was complaining she just don't know how to talk with someone who's having anxiety. Her team wasn't prepared to talk to someone with anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder. They made her suffer even more the way they talked to her.

I agree with your comment about her team… and I also agree with the commenter that says Raquelle is not a good friend. Prior to the documentary, she gave me a bad vibe. Then in watching the Selena + Chef show I confirmed that feeling. She doesn’t speak nicely to Selena. You know when you have friends and people who are brutally honest with you, but they are also tactful and compassionate when they see you going though something harsh and painful? Yeah, she doesn’t show compassion. You need to walk in someone’s shoes in order to understand what they’re going though, feeling, experiencing and living. Raquelle just wanted to show the “blunt” side without then showing compassion for her suffering friend. Your friends need to be honest with you for sure, but if they’re not hurting inside with you and for you, then they’re not your real friends. I think Taylor Swift is one of the truest friends Selena Gomez has. Selena needs to protect her peace at all costs, even if that means cutting people off and just keeping a very small circle.

Yes and I don’t understand why Selena didn’t share more about her kidney transplant and the aftermath. That would have been interesting to see and learn how hard Lupus really is when it affects the organs like in her case-kidneys. And to see both Selena and Francia share how the process was. Selena had to have emergency operation just a short while after her transplant so that would have been important to share I think. It was to short of a documentary.

Hearing her say "when am I going to be good enough by myself" was powerful. She IS "good enough" by herself. She is amazing. I think she is someone who should never - never ever ever - look at comments or reviews about her. She will take it personally and because she is so sweet, the sicko predators will come for her ego and try to destroy her light.

I am grateful for her honesty, I have idolised her now for 15 or so years, I also remember her from Barney. We are the same age. It was horrible to watch her in so much pain but was also very relatable, and its good to see she’s human like the rest of us, because sometimes we think that celebrities have everything and that their lives are great all of the time. I respect her for her honesty and vulnerability and I just know that the Documentary will help a lot of people. I also respect her ambition to bring mental health curriculum to schools. It is very much needed.

I can understand how Selena G feels of what she had been thru and still going on her mental state. Being a psychiatric nurse,I deal with this kind of mental illness of our patients.Being bipolar have many swinging in thoughts, and depressions, that cant imagine. We have engineers, psychologist, nurse, lawyers patients, but when the manic periods comes, its too difficult for them to cope up,but when the depressive phase occur, its the worst. Sometimes medicines cant help at all. The worst is this illness is heriditary. Read that Selena maybe cant get pregnant coz of the medicines she take, and thats understanable issues. But still Selena is a model and ambassador for mental openess that will help young generations or every generations who get mental issues. She is courageous and I love this woman who stood up high to help others.

As a momma of one who suffers from anxiety and one who suffers from depression I wanted to just hug her. I think many people will not only relate but begin to look at themselves a little differently. What became even more clear to me is how messed up Hollywood is and behind it all she’s really just a human being struggling like the rest of us do. Much love to this brave woman!!

I’m afraid to watch it. As a fellow kidney transplant recipient, mental health issues are rarely spoken about post transplant. You just got this wonderful gift, you should be so grateful and appreciative, nothing should be wrong. We are, because we are no longer tethered to a machine to do the work of our kidneys, but we are changing one set of challenges for another. It’s a major traumatic event in of itself and ptsd, post surgery psychosis happens more than people care to admit. Plus the guilt/responsibility of realizing you’re alive because of someone else’s sacrifice? Gut wrenching. I want to see the movie but I’m afraid I’ll see me in her, because I’ve been there.

I will say it’s worth the watch and she doesn’t go into much of the post-kidney transplant guilt. Or really go into it at all. She goes through a lot of her overall guilt of holding a position of fame and being a role model while struggling so immensely and wanting to be normal more than anything. A lot of talks about finding balance post mental breakdown and BP diagnosis. But she does touch on her lupus and the constant check ins and struggles she continues to deal with from it throughout, so if you think that may be too hard, then definitely protect your own mental health first! Sending love 💙 I hope you find a way through the burden of that guilt you must carry, but know what matters most is that you’re here 💙

Amazing how many celebrities suffer from mental illness and trauma: Selena, Lady Gaga, Machine Gun Kelly, Pete Davidson, Demi Lovato, plus so many others. It reminds me of what Jim Carry said, “I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it's not the answer." It's good they're speaking about it, so fans know they're not alone. And sharing how getting help and therapy helped them, to encourage others to do the same to improve the quality of their lives.

It was very sad to me cause as a viewer you are not part of the other side and her vulnerabilities and pain really touched me, wanted to go there and hold her as I would do to my daughter. I cried many times just because I felt so touched by. But on the other hand I think it was inspiring cause it’s good for younger girls that are so hard on themselves to understand that everyone goes through hardship no matter how beautiful or famous or rich you are, and in the end we are all humans that need understanding and she is better but working constantly on herself and trying to make her experiences a HUGE platform to do GOOD for others.

Mix bipolar with addiction and that will destroy your mental health big time.

Let's be real. At this point everything is staged and projected onto fans to increase clicks streams and ticket sales. The artist is always the last to know that the party is over. Unfortunately it usually results in their death.

Graeme, once again, watch the documentary before you report about it. I can tell you only watched a small clip, she talks about the face she has had to put on in front of her fans. She also canceled that revival tour due to mental health- which she discusses in the documentary. I’m not sure why or how that would be your ‘favorite scene’ like she is acting out a freaking play, this is her real life. She is showing the ways she was and is broken. So please- truly watch and listen to it, or don’t comment.

I saw it twice, and i cried twice haha I just felt so triggered by her blonde friend, I don't think she's helpful to Selena's mental stability IMO.

Ok, but what does her friend being blonde/having blonde hair have to do/really have to do with it tho tbh? Haha. 😂😂😂😂

Or were you just describing her friend as “her blonde friend” in a general way/statement? Haha.
