Kelly & Rizal's Incredible Barrel Tango - Padang Padang, 10 September 2020

As if watching Kelly Slater thread solid Padang Padang isn't enough pleasure for the eyes, he ups the ante with some tandem tube time with local legend Rizal Tandjung.
But they weren't the only ones doubling up where even accomplished surfers come unstuck in solo mode. Betet Merta and Eli Hanneman got in on the act as well. It really is another level and shows just how comfortable these guys are in the tube

That was a tough lineup, even for the Champ. I wonder at what point one says: “pull out of this drop-in, or share a wave with Slater.” It would be the wave of a lifetime if he didn’t hate on you for doing it. But if he dropped in on YOU? Notice how short Slaters board is? That boy can paddle a potato chip!

Why am I so at peace right now? Shut up. Don’t answer that. I just might choose Padang as my only wave if I found out that Russia was giving me only one surf spot and then they’re gonna nuke everything else. You know why Kelly can take a dump and create perfect tube swell in his toilet? He’s awesome because that 55 second mark wave was no easy execution. He cuts so hard at the bottom hanging on tight fighting inertia, only to carve up to the top and whip crack his hip out of socket and blast salt water all over whatever guy just making it over. He makes it look easy. That’s how you know someone is so good at what they’re doing.

I figured out how they can deal with two guys in the tube.!!!.when you watch the downhill skateboarders and they get crowded going too fast one guy pushes the other guys back to keep the speed the same. so if somebody's going faster from behind instead of passing the first dude you get up next to him and push him . if that's possible somehow.

What's the takeoff like here? I can never tell due to the angle of the footage. Is it gentle or steep? How fast is it? The angle makes it seem so gentle even on big days but im sure it isn't.
