I love that but Kelly is used to being interviewed by Whoopi and is still in that dynamic. I think she should have pulled back a little or maybe have a full disclosure discussion about her weight loss journey by itself so it's out of her system. I wanted to hear more about Whoopi being 300lbs and where she is today.

I don't want to know this world without Whoopi. As a kid of the '80s, she was one of the most fascinating people to me. Her stand-up specials are incredible with her portrayals of different characters, The Color Purple changed me as a person and it was HER embodiment over the story, I got to find incredible humor in Sister Act during a time of grief, her short nighttime talk show was spectacularly intimate and charming, and her books have been spiritual guides through her absolute wit, insight, and charm. She's an oracle, she really knows humanity and can communicate it in so many different ways.

Kelly has not only got one of the most magical voices but her ability to host a talk show and engage her guests is a gift that is parallel to none. Her ability to carry the conversation is so effortless and enticing that her guests are always willingly engrossed. Now Whoopi on the other hand when engaged will pull out all the stops. I have loved Whoopi since I was a little girl...her stand up comedy, her movies and just how much of an incredible human being she is. My goodness I didn't want that interview to end haha. I remember getting to see Whoopi when she was on Broadway doing, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" and she was awesome in it (of course). After the show there was a car outside of the theater waiting for her to come out. We all stood by the theater door to cheer for her and how amazing she was in the show. She came out and signed every single persons Playbill who was standing out there. She even signed Playbills of shows she wasn't even in. But, she was kind, gracious, patient and smiled the entire time. I will never forget that moment and how taken aback I was that she took that time for everyone...I know it meant a lot to me and I'm sure it did for many others as well❤️.

You are not alone. Seriously. Reading your comment was like reading my biography. I literally use to hate seeing the sun come up because it meant facing another day. Guess what? After being told I was two decimal points away from being a diabetic, the fear of jabbing myself with insulin shots everyday was greater than my self-loathing and fears of taking a chance on life. I stopped spending my days watching others live their lives, on KZbin vlogs and glamorous Instagram pics, and literally started taking one step at a time walking around my neighborhood. At first, when cars passed by, I held my head down in shame because I was self-conscious about letting myself get that big. I could barely tie my shoe strings properly-most times I stuffed them in my shoes. But, as time went on, I picked up the pace, and began watching what I ate. I took a drug similar to Ozempic just for a month. It did wonders! Seeing that boosted my confidence to stay on course. There’s a shortage on all those drugs (for us regular people) but I’ve still kept up my diet and exercise. Now I can tie my shoes comfortably, bend, squat, and run around my neighborhood -with my head held high! Do I still struggle still? Yes! I enrolled in therapy. You gotta talk to someone. You can lose all the weight you want and still feel mentally fat, stuck, and unworthy. I’m doing the inner work. And, it isn’t easy. I have setbacks, but my steps up outweighs the bad. I now feed myself on the things I love to do but was always too scared or too big to do it. Every time I checked off a box, it gives me hope, emotional independence, and encouragement. Life ain’t over till it’s over. Remember that. You have a right to live in this world just like anybody else; so, go do it! ❤

FYI: Marlon Brando likely was able to do the handshakes with Clive, Whoopi's brother, because he had been active in the Civil Rights movement. He was at the March on Washington and sat right in front of Dr. King Jr.

FANTASTIC “interview”! I love how Kelly just talks to people in a more conversational way & it doesn’t feel super scripted like most interviews do. Kelly looks absolutely stunning in this beautiful blue dress! Also, I don’t care how they’re losing weight as long as they’re happy & healthy. It’s no one’s business but theirs.

Exactly, i get what Kelly was saying... you don't see it. I don't take photo like often, kinda not my vibes but when i attended friend's wedding this week, forced to take photo then, i totally said "WTF was that???" Such a wake up call...

I think there should be a rule in not overspeaking when doing interviews. What is the point of having guests on the show if they are barely speaking? I don't understand. I'm hearing Whoopi's story less and less because Kelly kept talking about herself as she relates to Whoopi's topic during the conversation which is fine. But we need to go back to where we are hearing the guests voice more that the interviewer. Kelly can wait for her story and thoughts after she allows Whoopi to answer her. Overall though, this is a great interview. I enjoy Kelly's show because she has the personality and knows how to keep the conversation going. I hope that Whoopi returns to acting. Anyone going to get Whoopi's book?

So interesting because I never thought Kelly was miserable being overweight. She did project happiness. I just thought that she wasn’t phased by beauty standards in Hollywood. But seeing her after the weight loss, I can now see that she is a beautiful woman.

I think there just afraid to say the word Ozempic… cause girl what you are talking about is Semaglutide - which is in Ozempic (it’s just the brand), there are other brands like Wegovy too. But it’s all the same.

There's actually a pill that does something similar for diabetics, it's called metformin. That's prob the one she's taking. Helps the body process insulin like she says. If she was pre-diabetic that's prob why her dr wanted to put her on that.

IT IS NOT THE SAME!! Ozempic is a Diabetic medication that can cause weight loss. Wegovy is not a Diabetic medication and its specifically prescribed as a medication that aids in weight loss.

@@lisaevans6000 it actually is the exact same thing…same active ingredients they just give it in a higher dose for weight loss. One is fda approved for diabetes and the other for weight loss but it’s the same ingredient

I love how everyone watched the first 3 min where both women were sharing excitedly about something deeply personal, and then the rest of the interview Kelly let Whoopi talk 98% of the time and instead it's "OMG SHE NEVER SHUTS UP SO RUDE OMG" well guess what if Whoopi wasn't offended WHY ARE YOU

Scroll - lots are saying what you said but those first minutes of not hearing the guest's POV were difficult. Kelly admitted she's used to letting Whoppi lead and it took her some time to get out of that dynamic (producer probably whispered during the break becasue that's where we saw the shift)

It makes me feel so good that I can relate to these two beautiful women. I too was in their same boat, but I decided to have 80% of my stomach permanently removed, and what a game changer! If I wouldn’t have gotten it done, I would have died sooner rather than later. It too also helps with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes. I wanted to watch my son grow up, and if I continued with my horrible eating habits, I wouldn’t have been able to. So, losing 71 pounds in over 6 months, saved my life😄!
