@@Brombit The state of California, especially southern California, has a warm and sunny climate year round. It is also known for the "beautiful people" such as models and Hollywood film actors. The state of Minnesota, contrarily, is known for having extremely cold and long winters during which there is very little sunshine. In short, the singer is expressing that while he appears to others as being without problems, he is actually feeling mental pain and depression.

Awesome early Soundgarden. Chris' powerful voice, along with Kims' heavy riffage make this one of my favourite songs on one of my favourite albums from this era. There was so much good alternative/grunge that came out around that time and for Chris to stand pretty much head and shoulders above the rest vocally says a lot. #painintheask Alien Weaponry - Re Ana Te Whenua #NewZealandKids #thefutureofmetalisingoodhands #switcheditup #theirvideosdontgetblocked I have switched my song choice because I have seen that Kel isn't too interested in the videos and as I have said previously I think Re Ana Te Whenua is a slightly better song and it was recorded nearly a year(?) before Kai Tangata when the boys were 15, 15 and 17. The guitarist and drummer are brothers Lewis(15) and Henry(17), the bassist Ethan(15) was the only one of their friends who could reach the end of the bass neck when they started the band when they were 8, 8 and 10. Also if you do the Official video it has subtitles you can switch on.

"Say Hello to Heaven" by Temple of the Dog shows how amazing he could sing. FYI, TotD was a one off band in tribute to the death of Andrew Wood, singer of Mother Love Bone who died immediately before their debut Apple. Andrew was Chris' roommate. Andrew's former MLB bandmates, Stone Gossard (guitar) and Jeff Ament (bass), joined with Chris while recruiting members for their next band. They found a bee lead guitarist Mike McCready and Chris brought in his drummer Matt Cameron. During the sessions they recorded a song called Wooden Jesus. Stone and Jeff had sent out the backing track and other instrumental tracks to potential singers. Their choice arrived mid sessions and sang back up one one song. He helped Chris figure out the vocal arrangement for another, and Chris thanked him by sharing the verses, which is how Eddie Vedder sings co-lead on "Hunger Strike." This new band was briefly called Mooky Blaylock after a Sonics player, but later became Pearl Jam. After Soundgarden's first breakup, Matt Cameron became the 4th PJ drummer. So on Hunger Strike, Chris, unknown to all, was playing with the current lineup of Pearl Jam. I mentioned Wooden Jesus as the Pearl Jam b-side Footprints is the exact same song with Eddie's own lyrics and vocals via the audition tape. Of the big four Seattle grunge bands, only Pearl Jam has a living lead singer, though only because of the death of a previous band's lead singer. Finally, the Alice in Chains song "Would?" is also about Andrew Wood. Badmotorfinger and Superunknown alternate as my favorite Soundgarden and grunge albums. Though my all time favorite album, also released in 1994 (Superunknown) is Grace by Jeff Buckley. If you haven't heard it, it is worth a full album review, though is not metal, but you can hear the Led Zeppelin influence occasionally.

Hey guys, loved it. But not many people -at least around me in the UK -of all places (that will make sense in a second!).Don't know that Chris Cornell (RIP) sang on one of the more recent James Bond movie songs (the UK punchline -flop!)... and it rocked! Switching subjects suddenly! Rich, I do PT work like you, as well as work in a small town, rural fire service, but I'd love to see a small side video or something about your experiences, techniques, dialogue with people etc, just discussing it. I'm 40yrs old, had an up and down life where I lost almost everything to alcohol and drug addiction after a trauma, but been back for nearly 7yrs... And this training and helping people lifestyle has built a wall between me and that. Never had an interest in anything competitive myself, but have experimented with most aspects and seem to be doing a good job of it, and would be interesting to hear your experiences. That might be a bit of a niche thing for most people, just a thought. Thank you, and don't change you two, you rock! -Owen

Sorry to be commenting on a video from a couple weeks ago but you should react to a lesser-known band, The Chronicles of Israfel. I think you'd really love the Starborn Part 1-Part III suite (it's really one song in three parts) from their album Starborn, Tome I. Judging by how you've reacted to Tool, Porcupine Tree, and other really epic stuff, I think you'll dig it. :)

OK, I'M SEEING A LITTLE POSSIBLE CONFUSION. Judith is certainly a great tune by APC, about Maynard's mom, but I believe most people would say play WINGS FOR MARIE & 10,000 DAYS together, which is how it is on Tool's album. Although Judith is about his mom I don't see why it NEEDS to be played first, but either way listen to WINGS FOR MARIA WITH 10,000 DAYS. It's like an intro like Parabol/Parabola. Rock on! kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2SQqoCod7asoKs Chris Cornell vid playing Led Zep.

I hadn't listened to the AIC albums in a while so I recently listened in order to the 1st 4. I felt like it was my 1st time listening as I was blown away. How does your 1st attempt have no songs I'd prefer to skip & just be so awesome? I felt the same way with the 2nd one. Don't get my tears going for Jar of Flies! It's so cool that you can like a style like AIC & also a Smiths album! I feel so lucky to have been exposed to a variety of music thanks to MTV. I found most of my favs there which are still my favs today: Rush, Queensryche, Depeche Mode, & Morrissey/The Smiths (although I didn't find the latter via MTV). Good music is good music, right?
