Hey guys, just wanted to clear up the part where Annie showed me her friend’s photo. She FaceTimed him beforehand to ask if it was okay to show me while filming since I’d never seen a n00d and he was completely fine with it. His exact words were ‘looking forward to the feedback’. That response was also a culture shock for me😂Anyway consent is always important!!

I agree, and I'm actually a little bit disgusted by her attitude because you can't mention the culture of sending nudes in the UK without acknowledging that the reason it became a "norm" is because many girls get coerced NOT because they love sending so much and it's so accepted here, because they still get shamed and socially ostracized for it. There's literally a whole scandal involving this rn. She can like what she likes, but the bit where she said she didn't care if someone shared her nudes as long as she looks "hot" in them made me feel quite angry for some reason. As if looking "hot" is the biggest concern when someone is sharing nudes without permission. Ffs.

I feel like the women have to work hard to look good enough for them and not piss them off at the same time. I believe that both cultures have positive and negative points: 1) Being good/bad in bed doesn't necessarily imply previous experience. It is all about connection/chemistry. When you truly love someone, the chemistry is amazing with or without previous experiences; 2) Again, if you truly love someone you won't be jealous of their friends, you will support them having their own social circle; 3) Nudes are a fun way to spice up your relationship being it a serious one or not. It is up to you to know how reliable that person is in order to share something so private about yourself. Other than that, there's nothing better than knowing that your loved one is thinking about you during their day, and having fun with their body by making you smile with an intimacy playfulness. For me, relationship is all about love and showing your true self to your loved one. If a person truly loves you, he/she will find all of your actions on point. Just the way you are.

I think here in England it's more similar to as in Korea but just a little less strict, and a bit more serious in terms of breaking up, i think Anna's English crowd we're just like, a certain type of crowd here, not the majority by a long-shot. Seriously, lol, pay very little attention to what Anna's saying about 'the west', only certain types of people are like that out here, it's not normal or common to be loving sending and receiving nudes in place of a 'hello' lol, sleeping around with multiple people at the same time, same sex friends when in a relationship being totally drama-free, etc. How Anna's lived her life and insinuating that 'in the west' is the same as her personal life here, encourages people of other cultures to think that western women are easy, etc. And i've seen a lot of foreign women in Korea complaining that finding a boyfriend in Korea is so difficult, because Korean men think they're just sex object. What Anna has said here and in her video is helping their incorrect perceptions of western women, so yeah. it's not 'in the west', it's 'Anna's personal experience'. Ikr! I think Annie is making the mistake of thinking her friend group is representative of western culture at large. I’m American and I don’t live in a small town but a lot of the stuff she says is normal would NOT be acceptable here. And if a boyfriend sent me nudes I would never casually show them to other people like Annie does in this video. And even though the law may side with victims who’s nudes are leaked, many people here still blame the victim for having taken the picture. The west is too broad and varied to stereotype like this.

Believe me, in my home country dating tradition looks way more similar to the korean one, with small differences (no reports, less jealousy, people take a looooong time to entitle the rel as bf-gf).

Same. I lived in England too and the crowd and circle of friends that I was with was definitely not the same as annie's. Most Western women are in between these two examples. We aren't going to chase abusive behavior, but we also tend to question a guy who's too available. It's about balance for us. Too eager and we get scared away, too distant and we get mad or suspicious.

Annie doesn’t have a place to speak for all westerners. Her experience is based dating and hookup culture in the UK. It’s not going to be exactly the same for other countries like Canada or America. Generalization is never correct, everyone is different.

Korean dating is somehow similar to dating in the Philippines. Including the constant texting and asking 'how's your day' and 'have you already eaten?'. Courtship is still highly being practiced here and most guys also don't like their girlfriends having very close guy friends unless the guy is gay or they are mutual friends. Sex is considered sacred in our country because of our religion so doing it while still gf/bf is considered a sin but, of course, people do it anyway since it's human nature and couples love each other. But sending nudes is frowned upon and considered taboo especially if you are not in a relationship with the person. In fact, if it gets leaked it brings shame and scandal not only to the person but also to the whole family. I think most Asian countries share similarities when it comes to dating. It's just how we are brought up and how our culture and society is. I love this video by the way. It's fun to watch at the same time informative. 😁👍

Now that I’m older I think it’s weird when guys don’t have any female friends. It’s a huge turn off. Like, there’s probably a reason. Is something wrong with them? They tend to see the world in a skewed way, in my experience. Also I would think it’s a lot more suspicious if someone DIDN’T want me to meet they’re female friends.
@Kiki-Delivering3 жыл бұрын
I wholeheartedly agree with this, if you don’t have chick friends as a guy, I’d put 100 dollars on the table you don’t have a balanced enough worldview. However, I’ve also known guys that had chick friends that are all the same kind of woman, very traditional, white-picket fence type and when you act outside of that one role of women they know they can’t handle it. I feel the same way about people whose friend groups are made up of people who only look, think, talk, act like their cultural group or place they where born into. Basically, if there is a lack of diversity in your world I don’t trust it.

there's alot of reason why guys don't have female friends especially if he is unattractive. also its a form of manipulation where if the guy is not attractive and the girl is. so they become friends and there's always a barrier there between them

@@viannebelle ok you said it’s a turn off if guys don’t have friends that are girls. I’m here to tell you that most female and male friendship is never platonic anyway. Women always set the boundaries towards the guy and that’s how the “friendship” continues. So when you say that it’s a turn off because he doesn’t have female friends. Well maybe he’s really good at getting the girl without giving her any validation for like 10 years. Maybe he’s never been told “No but we can be friends” Like honestly ask yourself how can you call something a friendship if the guy who might even be your best friend is willing to sleep with you if he ever had the chance too. end a friendship by doing so and start a relationship or situationship with you. That means is was never platonic at all to begin with or never genuine. From the start there was a goal for the guy and it was to win you over.

I'm a Spanish girl and I can tell that not all western people are the same as Annie and her relationships obviously, we cannot put all the eggs in the same basket, but I believe she was just trying to say that in the western world is more common to have and do this kind of stuff, she was NOT referring to EVERYONE but I feel it should have been more clear to avoid misunderstandings. What's more, as I see it, having multiple sex relationships, sending nudes, and stuff DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE SEXUALISING YOURSELF OR YOU'RE EASY. I wish this gets finally stuck in everyone's head. I also find it quite immature not to accept your partner's opposite-sex friends. Overall, it all depends on your environment and mentality, but your country or surroundings don't necessarily define you.

The way Annie was describing the UK dating scene is actually so wrong. She was obviously describing her own dating life, which is okay and probably the point of the video. But to say “in the UK, we...” is wrong. Tbh it seemed like she was describing the hook-up culture more than real relationships 😂😂 I literally don’t know a man who would be ok with his girl sending nudes even before him. And the guys that do ask for it usually don’t have much respect for the girls they’re asking it from, not because he doesn’t think she’s immature 🙄 I’m 99.9% sure if a uk guy watched this he’d say “she belongs to the streets” 😂 Not saying it’s the right thing to say as it’s her own life, but yeah.

Totally. agree with you. Annie is just a very dull girl who plays off of her sex appeal to men. She is the antithesis of a feminist. But the guys here (at least like everyone I encountered) doesn’t even know what it means to go on a date and get to know another person first…..they think if you wanna meet up you are up to having sex with them already. I hate that…..either I was born into the wrong generation or simply wrong country (doesn’t mean I wish to be born in Korea but you know a country with a similar dating culture or just something you can call DATING CULTURE not NETFLIX & CHILL CULTURE). I want to find someone that takes the time to get to know me and is sincere about wanting a relationship with me first before he even considers having sex. I even texted that some guys that I only search for serious relationships and they were like yes and agreed but once meeting them they wanted to Netflix and chill lol. And even in my 5 year long relationship I would never send nudes….lol you’d think with marriage in mind I would have trusted him 100% too? No way….I hear too many guys that once you break up with them or things don’t turn out their way they go for revenge. So much happened to women that thought they could trust their partners but were proven wrong. It’s up to you guys if you wanna send nudes or not but really be careful you all.
