(I’m an Italian girl) It’s totally normal for an Italian guy not to text every day when you start dating: he might read your messages and don’t reply immediately or opening the chat hours after you sent your message because they don’t want to make you understand they are actually interested in you before being sure that they like you and you like them. It would hurt their masculinity to be rejected so they are cautious about showing real interest in you. They don’t like girls who are too clingy so you can text him but not too often. Though, on the other hand there are also guys who keep writing and writing and writing….not every man is the same.

I think as a Black woman I think this method of dating is nice mostly because of how utterly oversexualized men are towards me when they're interested. That's why I like that this method is something that is a norm in Korea. If a man wants to go fast and I don't want to I don't let it go further than that. But if we both go in knowing we're taking our time, I personally prefer it. But that's just my own preference.

Hi Kelsey ! I'm Italian and its pretty normal for an Italian guy to don't text you ever day, especially at the beginning(three four dates). In Italy especially at the beginning we like to flirt and don't reply to messages right away, we usually respond after an hour or so. Then when you already know each other and you are together, then yes the guy usually text you everyday multiple times. Otherwise the guys don't usually like it because they feel like that you are too obsessed with them. For what concern skin-ship, Italian are really used to that even between strangers, just take into consideration that we kiss on the cheeks every time we meet with friends and family. If he continue to ask you out then you don't have to worry because he's probably into you

We are also very used to staring at each other, it's not normal in Italy if you don't look in the eyes of the other person, its considerate rude not to do it because we fell like that you are not listening to us ( its a cultural things because in many part of the world is the opposite). During sex Italian guys they stare a lot, that's pretty normal for us (they usually do that to make sure you are ok and to understand if you like it or not) For what concerns who pays, usually the guy offer on the first date but it's not always like this, its also depends on which part of Italy is he from. Its not considerate rude if you pay, it's just that usually the pay the first date and then for the second that it's considerate ok if both of you pay. In addition to that Italian guys are really different if they are from the north or the south, like for example "usually" (I'm not saying for everybody) if they are from the south they are more conservatives, if he's from the north, guys don't usually judges you if you slept with them early on. Not every Italian guy is like this but its just general info. Hope I helped you a little !!!!!

I am an American. I am not Korean but I am Asian. I do not necessary agree with your assessment that the actions or inactions of Korean men on first dates are a sign that Korean men have not game. For me, it's about respect. Usually, especially on first dates, there is no touching (maybe a hug at the beginning of the date) unless there are clear signals that the girl is ok with any touching or anything more. As a guy, especially if I am interesting in the girl, I don't want to come off as creepy or just come off as inappropriate The Korean club thing, yeah, that is not acceptable and Tinder is a whole different world.

Kelsey, be straight with your Italian guy. Ask him if he’s checked your insta and stuff… He’s checking if you’re compatible with him. He’s just spending time with you and seeing if you’re it for him. Being straight forward emotionally is the best you can do for you and for him. Also, as your girl friend tells you, meet other guys… you’ve been in a relationship for 3 years. You deserve to be picky and the Italian guy needs to know you’re trying to adapt to this new situation. If he’s worth your time, he will understand that. Italian advise: I’m from Milan (close to actually), I’d say that, for our generation especially, having sex right away doesn’t make you not-girlfriend material, its just part of the “getting to know each other”. Not texting is also not an indicator of interest, it depends on personality and just personal preference. The flirting though, in my opinion, means he’s interested in you, it might be just attraction or something more, but we’re used to longer periods of getting to know each other and dating and going out, maybe even with friends, and then, if we decide to be boyfriend and girlfriend, is usually a serious commitment. Even back in high school most of the relationships last a long time, like more than a year at least, and the older you are the more “serious” it gets to be in an actual relationship. So the attraction is probably there, but I’d say it’ll take way more than three dates to know if he’s interested in more than a fwb thing, cause he’ll probably want to really get to know you… obviously this is based on my experience, every person is different and even cultural trends can be disproven by personality, good luck though cause at the end of the day “Italians really do it better” 😉

I am not Italian, but I have my fair share of experience dating Italians (I'm engaged to one :D) My experience is that they have some more conservative customs, especially if they come from the South of Italy, but that doesn't mean they really think conservatively. It's maybe part of their image and pride, but they don't necessarily have a traditional mindset. They appear quite sex-positive under the surface. Most of the ones I know are naturally more flirty and passionate and eye- and body contact is like a must. It's not my experience that they judge someone for having sex with them early on at all. They can be quite romantic, like to an almost cheesy degree (for me as a German woman anyways lol) when they're into you, but of course there's exceptions. I'm not going to lie, I would say there are more who would maybe be considered "players" by other countries, but my perception is that they don't think about it that way. Like there's little shame in hooking up and just having a more long-term "summer flirt" sort of deal and almost what I perceive a deep appreciation for the experiences you have with someone in the present, without necessarily considering the future. Respect for each other is maintained. And I noticed that at least with the Italians I know there is much more reverence and appreciation for women, and women being expressive which is quite lovely. Just asked my fiancé for his 2 cents. He's not very "traditionally Italian" even though he's from Venice, but he agrees they are more naturally flirty and that there are conservative customs, but like sex-positivity and being somewhat forward about that underneath. Anyways, that's just my experience and his (not very helpful) addition. And hey, I agree...Italians good Lovers x (And all my girlfriend's I talked two who hooked up with Italians say the same) Continue having fun and see where it goes!

Agree with Anna re your Italian lover. I'm French and - although it's a cliché (so maybe your guy is not the typical Italian type) - I'd say Italians like to flirt for the sake of enjoying a flirt. Like a compliment. Or sometimes only for the sake of "winning" if they're into their ego (they can have manners but not automatically ethics or morals! But I guess that's international :-/ So I'd say paying for the girl is like macho manners, chivalry type, showing to be the provider and demonstrating that you can rely on him in the potential relationship... and sometimes it's even seen as "if you put up for sex, the least he can do is pay for food".... 🤢). And if sex is consensual, and he wants more, it simply says he's into having sex with you. But the cliché is that Italian men take a really long time to become attached because once they do, it's with prospect of marriage - and sometimes the only woman they truly love is their mother and no one else. Until then, they're playing it cool and getting to know you and they may not give you many signs of being into you (like social media). That way it's non committal and they can leave you for someone else whenever they want. Telling the girl she's hot is genuine but they can get turned on by how much they control how you respond to them and that's not automatically that they're genuinely into you - that's why Westerner women can find Korean men (in dramas) so romantic because it _seems_ more genuine. I think Italian women for instance, are quite thick skinned to compliments. They're used to it being a currency in the flirt game. But hey, it's always nice to hear ^^ Generally, the latin flirt game is favoured to men. They do the chasing to win but if the chase is easy, they lose interest and their feelings don't automatically go deeper than that. I wouldn't expect a latin guy to be liking all your posts for instance. It would make them feel weak, like they don't have the upper hand and latin women would experience it as needy and smothering if they did. I live in the UK now and I do soooooo miss the game from French or Italian men now!! Though they can be just as rude as they are irresistible, and I find that unsettling. I have to say, I also find that when men (latin men esp) get to have sex every time, it stops them from getting in touch with their feelings because their craving is satisfied. They start to see it as a sexual exchange because they expect it. And it stops them feeling like I'm someone special in their life. My male friends tend to agree with that opinion. And my Spanish / South American friends always say to make him wait, to let him run after me etc. It does my head in TBH! But if you enjoy him and you don't feel like you're wasting precious time building a relationship, then have your fun and see where it goes, just watch out for your heart? Like when he says "oh are you just using me and then leaving me?!", he's playing with you. He's testing whether you care about him, not necessarily that he cares about you - and also it could be a little kinky of him to imply he's the F boy to see your domineering game. My guess is that a typical Italian guy, if he's offended, he'll shout and be proper angry, not all shy and vulnerable, unless he's the introvert type but if he's got game, he's probably not a shy guy. Italians to me (more than French or Spanish) are esp good at flirt games - having the upper hand making sure you love them more than they love you so they are safe to decide where things go. But not to say it's automatically doomed, I hope you have fun, the sex sounds awesome ^^ Re texting every day, I find that no Western guy texts everyday, at least not my exes, not even when they were into me. When I texted guys every day, they would reply (esp when it's around the first few dates) but I always feel like I'm being needy because they don't text (I think for me, I like the person to be weaved into my everyday whereas for them, dating me is something they do when they don't do something else, even if they're thinking about me). Since learning about Korea, I'm amazed to hear men text everyday!!

My experience is trust what a person does, but not automatically what they say. Re looking at him while doing it, I'd say do what is right by you especially in bed. Some men will take advantage of knowing you want to be nice to control you when they feel insecure, telling you you're being rude (gaslighting). *If* he's into you more than you into him, then we can understand why it's upsetting but that's not necessarily what's going on and he'll use that ambiguity to his advantage if he's the controlling type. And if he's understandably frustrated, it's still up to him to deal with his feelings incl frustrations. It's great being taken care of sexually but not as the expense of taking care of you as an equal (unless you're into that XD ). Great to express one's feelings with vulnerability, but not great to make you responsible for how he feels. My view is: consider requests but don't get swayed by criticism. It's toxic to get manipulated in life, but even more so in bed? (I love your channel ^^)

I hate being 2 months late to this fascinating comment. I'm really into this culture stuff and i highly appreciated this read. I have to admit, it sounds daunting to date french/Italian guys. ESPECIALLY because I'm autistic. I am painfully sincere and naive and automatically expect others to be sincere too or i get paranoid and question literally everything. I noticed that most guys i dated or had sexual relationships with, would stop treating me the same way once they have a lot of sex with me. The friendship/dating aspect disappears overtime and i literally just become a booty call. And overtime, the sex gets boring because he gets less interested in satisfying me in bed. Even when I give pointers or want to try something new. It's almost like i stop being a full person. Im from Kavkaz and my family very traditional and strict. So I’m trying to find someone like that too (blind dating). Mediators are usually aunts, other relatives. I can relate to a lot of things in Korean culture, that’s the reason I love it. I’m gonna agree about the texting. Based just on what I’ve heard and seen of course. I’ve only heard of Korean men texting that much, nobody else. In a lot of other cultures men would not text too much cause they think it makes them look desperate and isn’t cool. And a lot of women are creeped out by a guy texting too much too soon and it makes them uncomfortable. I would personally be turned off by it, it feels like way too much pressure. 🤷‍♀️😂

From my dating experience, Korean guys from Korea text the most. Japanese guys from Japan text the least and American guys are in the middle. The same goes for the women from those countries as well for the most part but it can vary more in the States because we're a melting pot. And i think men in their twenties are usually ready to go lol. Changes as they get older xD I agree with your friend. Date around when it's just the dating phase. You don't need to tell them . I honestly don't like "game" on the first date at all. Like, here i am with this guy i just met and i don't even know if i like him, but he's touching me. It just feels awkward. Even if the guy is really attractive, it takes time for me to decide if i like him. If he's hot, but we have nothing in common, different senses of humour, he's an idiot or a misogynist, i certainly don't want him to touch me. I don't think you should base/start your relationship off your chemistry in the bed, Kelsey. I understand that sex is an important factor for you, especially when speaking about your past experience. However everyone has different tastes when it comes to sex and it's wrong to expect this person that you just met to know what you like in bed. If you really like your partner personality and who he is, then you guys can talk about what you both like and try to make it work. ultimately it doesn't matter if you base your relationship off sex since you can still run into compatibility issues outside of bed.

I'm from Rumania and here boys also pay when thay date. After more then 4 dates or so, when you get comfortable with the boy, you can start to offer to pay. It's what they think is polite. They will text you but not every day and if they do it's when they end work. Also you can tell what they think of/about you from their body language. Love your topics!👍

I would suggest you to just enjoy the time with him and try not to get attached till solid signs are shown. Be yourself because you have a bold and unique personality and that’s the biggest turn on. In case he is a f boy, I believe these guys find it really attractive when they lose the upper hand from time to time and feel like you play the game better than them, when you look strong and independent but still interested and playful in your own way. You are allowed and probably expected to play any games you want! Let them ask for you (but make this effort only if you’re really interested of course, don’t waste your time and energy). I hope he doesn’t want to just date Korean girls as an experience or maybe want to date “traditional” Korean girls, like some western girls who want to date “traditional” Korean guys just to see themselves how it is different. Because we have similar mindset about dates, I would not like to have a “traditional” Korean date to be honest. I also look for the body language and expect some steps to be done even from the first date, to be able to tell what’s going on. So I would find you really interesting if I was him hahaha. first I would like to say that Western countries such as the US and Europe have a lot in common in dating. Korean culture is a whole different ball game so if you are use to Korean thinking you will certainly be lost. As an American married to an Italian our way of dating were basically the same. We met at a club we liked each other than he asked for my number. He called a couple of days later asked me out to dinner. Days later he ask me out again. We spoke on the phone not very often but as time passed we saw each other more and more. There were no calling each other every day but when we were together it was always great. We flirted with each other we had great conversation and we showed affection towards each other when we were together. So it became pretty obvious we were into each other but it took time. So in my experience in dating it takes time to know if someone is into you and if you are into them. The alternative is to get into a superficial relationship that only ends in a breakup because you have no real knowledge of the person you are with. So my thing is to be patient with someone you like. Take your time getting to know them. Don't expect instant gratification. And remember if you really have to question if someone is into you there probably not or not to the degree you would like. JUst remember in the Western countries the men are all different in some way and alike in most but if they are into you the results are the same. Get to really know him and nail him.

I do fear that you 2 may be too westernized to find a satisfying relationships in Korea unless you find a Korean man that has lived abroad and is as fun, vivacious and open minded as you 2 are, and who is solid in his manhood with some sex appeal. In one of the comments below someone suggested if you meet a korean guy that you like and you're compatible in many ways and of good character but doesn't know how to use the sausage, you could show him how to pls you if he is open to that and doesn't get offended. It's hard to find everything you need in one person so sometimes you have to be creative but i do agree with you sex is important, and i would guess that lousy sex is horrible but sex is not everything especially if your partner is willing to work on it if everything else is good. You seem to really like Mr. Italy i hope he reaches out, but Anne is right you had been in a longterm relationship for 3 years so you should talk to other ppl. You don't have to sleep with them but dating until you meet someone you feel a connection with is okay, you ca usually tell after 1 or 2 dates if he's worth spending your precious time with.

I think that people just want to have what they can't have. Dating in the west has too much sex and not enough dating whereas in South Korea there is too much dating and not enough sex. I think that's why foreigners want to go on Korean blind dates, they want to feel that sort of sitting down and having a heartfelt conversation. (Hey these are just my thoughts and I've never gone on a blind date in Korea and inferring from what i saw in this video). This is the first video i saw from this channel, it is wild and fun. Honestly as a southwestern woman, the things korean guys do at dates feels nice. I mean, things here are very straight foward (body lenguage and stuff) and it takes out the magic I think. When things take a slower and buildable path it's more confortable in a way. But if you like the guys to say it without the circling thing, you go girl.

I live in italy since 2007. I'll try make it short: the payment- usualy guys prefer to pay , but do apreciate if every once in a while is the girl that pays. the eye contact- if during a conversation you are not looking at eachother is kindda rude, as in you are not interested in what he is saying..same goes for looking at the phone/ insta/fb etc too much during a dinner together. The sex it is passionate, i confirm. If it doesn't feel intimate is probably bad sex. The texting- if is a text every 3 days is probably more of a fun thing, not relationship material. If is more than 3 texting sessions a day is clingy allert. The back to back sex- depends on the person. Non necessarly related to beeing italian. Also i confirm that usualy they are interested in the girl beeing satisfied as well. Hope is useful info

There is of course cultural interest and differences. But I think the matter of texting after the date and such, it's not a cultural matter. I think all over the world texting and talking between dates is something that shows interest. Same thing about sex, there are situations where on the first date you lie down and stay together and also get married and there are situations where you perceive it as a fling. If the woman wants something serious from the man she met, I think she might avoid lying on the first date and the same man not because they judge it, these because they want to know more and maybe show the other side that they care. The biggest difference there is in Korea compared to other countries is the matter of "laws" which is something that other countries do not have. We have no rules for dating and after dating. Everything is free and it very much depends on the people. So yes there is a bonus here, because if on the first date the man is not interested in you it will be much nicer not to sleep with him and after that find out that he is not interested. In addition, it also depends on the character of the people.

Went on a date once with a guy that I really didn't enjoy, he put next to no effort into talking to me and I tried my best to at least have some conversation while I drink that beer. I can't remember a time I smoked that much, just to keep myself occupied. It didn't go on for very long, as you can imagine, but while I was on the bus on my way home he texted me to tell me how much he enjoyed it and that he'd like to see me again soon. Over 5 years into my relationship and we split everything... except on special occasions such as birthdays or anniversarys he pays. Kelsey, regarding the paying on the date. I am an European (not Italian though) and I think that paying separately on a date is just quite weird. So I totall understand your Italian guy that it feels weird to him. But on the other hand, I am not saying that a guy always has to pay. Sometimes it could be the girl who pick ups the table afer the date. How I do it is usually I let the guy pay on two dates and on the third date I pick up the table. And the guys usually appreciate this approach.

In Scandinavia dating sucks (like in Denmark), it's mostly about sex and it's so empty. No mental connection, I wish men here are like korean men. I don't believe all korean men are not passionate in sex, you get more passionate as you get more experience. Some in korean series have passionate sex, adult actors.
