The CP33 is extremely accurate. We've been having fun shooting it off the bench with a cheap 4X scope I had so I bought a 2.5-8X scope for it with quick release rings. That will allow me to shoot it as a plinker or as a bench rest long distance pistol. So far it's been amazingly reliable. The only malfunction was a single round of Federal Auto Match where they left the primer out of the cartridge. It had a strong primer strike so the pistol did its job. When I saw that Taurus announced a 16 shot 22 pistol at the 2019 SHOT Show I thought that was particularly bad timing given that Kel-Tec was announcing their 33 round 22 pistol. Talk about stealing someone's thunder. :-)

CP33 with double the capacity of the Taurus. Also much tighter groups. These two guns aren’t in the same category. CP33 is supressable, has a rail for optics, target sights, greater sight radius, can be brace mounted but isn’t a carry gun. The Taurus is a gun you could holster like any other handgun. The CP33 is kind of a sub gun wannabe and about the only thing these guns have in common is they both shoot 22.

Another point that could be brought up on the 2 is actual cleanup of the guns. I can go ahead and tell ya the Taurus would with that out. Shooting suppressed just chokes a gun so much forcing all of that gas and debris back into the action. My M&P22c suffers from this with a can. It also suffers from the poor rifling like so many other 22c that S&W has cranked out. Mine has leaded so bad it has cause tumbling issues. And it’s extremely hard to clean a 22c with its fixed barrel in the dip. With the Taurus you can pop it out and drop it in the dip. That is if the barrel is made out of an appropriate steel.

slip on rubber grip sleeves are available from many companies ,, all , and i stress all kel-tecs require a minimum of 300 + rounds run through and then a cleaning and your fav. lube , my pmr30 likes hoppes synthetic , remember they are polymer and can be finicky when very cold , polymer can shrink at first . after a proper break-in the actions will become super smooth , and damned reliable . yes both of mine are reliable with 40g , 36g , and cci 32/33g now broken in .

My TX22 does not like Winchester Wildcat and M-22. Stovepipes, light strikes, failures to pick up rounds from the mag...over a 50% failure rate with those 2 from Winchester. Rem Thunderbolt, Golden Bullet and 4 different CCIs are nearly 100%. Hopefully it won’t start having issues with those as well. It’s great when it works.

GLMontyWV I shot M-22 to see if it worked out of my TX22. It did, but I will not keep shooting it. Thunderbolts are a nice cheap diet for mine, and when I want to see fireballs, I load up the Stingers.

That Taurus looks dope!!! Looks just like that elusive steyr 9mm, & i wouldnt touch that keltec unless a brace came with it.

My son has the Keltec and I bought my wife the TX22, Both are accurate and dependable. What more could you ask for? The price point on the Taurus is the deal maker. Sweet pistola!

No more Kel Tec for me. Bought a new PMR 30 in December. Firing pin broke in February. Shipped it to Kel Tec UPS per the instructions in the manual. They fixed it quickly, but only reimbursed me for $35 of the $110 it cost me. Done.

Kel-Tec will send you a shipping label if you have a problem with a new gun. You shouldn't have paid anything to ship the gun. You spent $110 on shipping?!? Do you live in Antarctica ?

Liberty4Ever , that’s news to me. I followed their instructions from their manual, which said to prepay UPS. UPS only ships guns next day air. I live in Arizona. Kel Tec never mentioned anything to me about sending a shipping label. This after I called them and wrote them a letter. It sounds like you’re confused.

@@Skfoster64 - I'm one of the moderators at the Kel-Tec Owners Group forum (KTOG) and we hear about this frequently. Most people don't visit a forum to say their new firearm is running great, but a high percentage of the first time visitors are there because they have a problem and are looking for a solution. It can be difficult to get Kel-Tec to reply to an email, but once you get them on the phone they'll take good care of you. They have an excellent warranty. They'll open a service ticket and if it's a new gun (typically within a month, sometimes three months, or a serious problem on the first range trip even months later), they will issue a call tag and email a pre-addressed shipping label billed to their shipping account. They'll fix the problem and ship the firearm back with a work order listing what actions were performed. The last item is invariably a live fire function test to ensure that the repair was successful.

@@Skfoster64 - I just checked and I did see the UPS prepaid shipping statement in the PMR-30 user manual. I then recalled having read it before. I thought that might be intended only for non-warranty service, but it seemed to apply even to warranty work. Kel-Tec offers a lifetime warranty to the original owner, so if you bought the gun new, it would always be covered under the lifetime warranty. It's nuts that UPS charged $110 to ship a PMR-30 from Arizona to Florida.

@@Liberty4Ever, thanks for taking time to provide this information. My first mistake was following the directions in the manual and not calling first. Then, when I tried to ship from the UPS Store right down the street, they told me firearms have to be shipped through their "Service Centers," which was almost an hour away. Then, when I got there, I learned it was going to be $110 because their policy is guns must be shipped next day air. I did call Kel-Tec after I shipped and asked about the reimbursement. The guy told me the limit for shipping reimbursement is $35, which they did eventually send me. However, he never mentioned the information you just provided, and they never communicated back to me after I sent a letter to them. I wish they'd update the manual. I thought I was doing everything the right way. Thanks.

Not comparible products. Both are awesome, however who's going to side carry the CP33? Not a realistic comparison.

Remember, having a feed ramp means you get to polish a feed ramp. My TX22 has a very shiny feed ramp.

I owned a kel pmr-30 and I had a lot of trouble loading the mag even with instructions 🤣. I was going to ask somebody in the gun store if there was the loading procedure with the cp33 just to avoid a headache like such

It would be nice if Taurus would come out with a longer barrel version. 4 in is a bit too short for 22LR. I always thought Kel-Tec guns look like toys, but that's purely subjective
