Awsome work! Love the idea of the holster preventing the safety from moving to the fire position. I have been making kydex sheaths for knives for a couple of years now and your video has inspired me to make one for my p 17. I think I might try and include a ramp or wedge shape incorperated into the channels for the safety that automatically force the safety into safe as the pistol is inserted. Let you know if succesfull.

Can you make one for a P17 with a red dot mounted on it?
@AmbGun Жыл бұрын
Sorry, I'm not making my inelegant P17 holsters any more. My personal collection of DIY holsters work great and with slight modification, accommodate a dot. However the new Keltec red dot slide with it's taller front sight doesn't work in any of my P17 holsters.

Way to go, sir! I like your style and ambition. I do wonder if the inside of your holster is going to scratch up or leave badly worn spots on my gun. I hear some concerning rubbing/scratching sounds on the video when removing and holstering the weapon but maybe that's just the microphone. Not sure if the total removal of the holster is the way I want to go either. Over-all Good job, the product seems a bit high priced to spend for a moderate priced gun. I will look forward to and wait for the "next-gen 2" with some more improvements from you. All the best to you.

Any Kydex holster will deliver some satisfying wear to your pistol...if used and worn daily. My holster will no doubt seriously fuck up the P17's finish and in short order your P17 will look like an M4 after two tours in the sandbox. My TAGM 'n Bag 'em holster is stupid expensive so I don't have to make too many. I really wish DeSantis would make a Slim Tuk for the P17. I'd probably buy a couple.

Nicely done. Any thoughts on pocket holster for P17? Is it even possible?

Long grip...probably need cargo pockets. KelTec should release a grip shortened version for pocket carry and to pander to the unfree states.

Love all the BS, and especially the holster. Have been looking for exactly that type of holster for my own P17. I will have to make my own since the company you referred to has yet to make anything I could afford. I made all my leather ones, I figure I can make one of these,

Left handed is the right way to go for carry and initial presentation (I have a video on this somewhere). I had my holsters listed for $120, but "on sale" now for $30! I don't exactly have ambitions to be a holster maker. No guarantees, no customer service. But maybe it'll be adequate until Warcat (Alien Gear Roswell) releases a P17 version...or DeSantis, a Slim-Tuk. www.ambgun.com/ambidextral-pistol/holsters#h.e8np3vnlrh1r

Yeah, but where else can you find a P17 holster with these features: No customer service, no returns. Few fucks given. It’ll probably cause a negligent discharge or maybe blow up your gun, so there’s that. With any luck it will feature improvements over my first prototype. Who knows when it’ll ship, maybe in 3 days or 3 weeks, but it ships for free! www.ambgun.com/ambidextral-pistol/holsters

You would be correct in not trusting reholstering a loaded and chambered pistol in a IWB holster. If your gut instincts start warning you of danger it's a good idea to listen to them and follow it. That's common sense and natural selection working in your favor. You'd be amazed at how many people have none. The same people are doing 60 MPH in a 35 MPH zone through downtown never lifting their foot off the accelerator. They can't for the life of them understand why they are running up on people pulling out and nearly getting into several accidents in a few minutes time. I can't tell how many of these younger "ninja" cowboys you see on the internet going in and out of a IWB Kydex holster with a loaded gun while target shooting. You should always remove the holster every single time. That's a negligent discharge waiting to happen. It's also not wise and even worse to carry appendix IWB. Your femoral artery will END YOU.... but that is another argument for another day.

Speeding through residential zones...I'm always paranoid that a kid will come darting out into the street from behind a parked car. Hitting a kid with your car, that'd have to be the worse sound ever. If I waggled around my firearm as recklessly as some people brandish their cars, I'd be in jail.
