​@@petercullen2196 McNeil has not stepped up since getting his extension.....Parada is no longer a top prospect....Baty has underwhelmed the organization and the fan base for several years now.... and Megill has been erratic after showing initial promise at the beginning of his career. I'd use any of them in a trade package. None seem to be progressing enough for the Mets organization.

I have NO DOUBT a major deal is in the works to obtain a front line starting pitcher for the Mets....... and it's coming via the trade market. Stearns isn't stupid.....he knows that some of his talent is blocked at the major league level and he also knows that you can't continue to play AAA prospects indefinitely at the minor league level. I would be very surprised if Baty doesn't get moved in a deal. I wouldn't be shocked whatsoever if McNeil got the boot as well..... they may even eat some money to move him. In regards to Marte.....i think he's quite useful as the DH this season. Hes always been an above average bat and a very professional hitter. He seems to be friendly with Soto and i think he's useful in extending the lineup. Remember..... he's only under contract for another year and he's certainly going to come into camp with the idea of extending his career. Im sure he realizes this is his best opportunity for a championship and to show he's still a valid option with his bat I realize im in the minority with these thoughts on Marte.....but watch and see....if they keep him..... which they very well may not....he will be a plus for this Mets squad in 2025.

I like Castillo, but I'm not sending Seattle many (if any) elite upper echelon prospects. Castillo is a horse. He's not necessarily elite. Seattle wants out from that 75m owed. That's where the Mets come in. I'd assume if a trade were to go through, we'd absorb Castillo's entire contract.. and send over a McNeil (with cash to cover some of his remaining money owed) and an Acuna. That's 2 major league guys that are versatile and ready to go. Throw in another prospect or two if need be.

Castillo is overrated unfortunately. His SAVANT is steady but lackluster akin to Luis Severino. Idk how these small market teams market-up their players a notch like this than what they *actually* are. Hope we don’t give up a haul for him. I would prefer Skenes if he’s available.
