My friend who introduced me to Tai Chi spent countless hours with Cheng Man Ching in his NYC studio in the late 1960s-1970s. I would bet this gentleman and my friend knew each other well.

@@NilsKlug it's me margie Sanchez I am so glad that you liked my comment thanks and thanks again esp. if you're going to forward it to ken do you know cheng man ching and ken and Robert morning star? My first taichi teacher is Robert he will always be that he's the one that got me started doing the form and I still practice the way he taught me sink in to the balls of your feet relax and breathe he taught me so much more about the form and he said that you should move one step slower than the teacher. And alot about the form. Margie Sanchez Nils do you do the gim? And do you still practice the form? Just curious that's all does Maggie still practice it too i have the dvd the professor and she is very much good with the taichi form and esp The gim. Margie

why wouldn't he study the yang form from BP CHAN instead of the chen form. doesn't make sense imho

I believe Mr. BP Chan came to New York City well after Chen Man-Ch'ing had returned permanently to Taiwan. I was one of many of Mr. Chan's outdoor students. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts I did not become one of his "indoor" advanced students. Mr. Chan was a wonderful person and a master of both internal and external martial arts. He was highly respected by internal and external martial art masters.

It is a pity that young generation don't see the treasure. They become victims of the rearranged Tao Lu Taijiquan which twists the body with fancy nonsense movements.

What you said is very much true. Perhaps they will go back to the taichi form 37 movements
