that was the single coolest CMC 37 yang demo I've EVER seen, absolutely beautiful!

Nice demonstration, but one complaint with the video: when you videotape a tai-chi demo, please make sure we can see the legs as well; the real movement is focused on the hips, and the shifting of weight by the legs. In this video, for quite a few poses, the close-up is focused on the hand-movement. Please correct it next time. Thanks for the upload.

He looks very good. I wish the camerawork captured more. Taiqi is in the feet and hips. Chen Man Ching himself often said that what we do with the hands really isn't important. Please do it again and illustrate the root. Thank you for your sharing.

The form as performed and captured on this video perfectly are tai chi. Humanly perfect . Touching the essence. Being there. Being .

Thank you for posting the video. Next time no close-ups. They crop out crucial parts of the form that we need to see.

Very Beautiful!!! Marvellous! Thanks for posting it!!! This reminds me a lot of the forms, when I started learning them (1992). As I learnt from diverse teachers and training partners, my forms changed. As life is changing all the times you live in. :) Just taiji remains the same pleasure.

@@pz3j I did talk about the beauty of the manqing forms, not of me, just how I learnt it. If you want to test your taiji, you are invited to challenge me for a boxing session in zurich. You can do the first strike.

How nice - a chinese meditation w/ indian music played by a westerner (and viewed by this middle eastern jew, among many others). All humans should get acquainted more and more, bit by bit. Thanks for uploading. Also because of the form, of course.

I'm pretty sure (actually, I'm positive) that "Separate Weight" is one of Professor Cheng's key Five Principles. Why is it missing from this demonstration of his form?

instead of zooming in (1:00) maybe it would be more beneficial to see what the whole body is doing

@@NilsKlug . . . thank u for the reply kind sir, and yes, i should have read the comments before posting. By the way, i really like your video... it has helped me immensely and i found the discussion regarding music interesting as well. Although music is relative to the individual, it seems to help (me, anyway) synchronize and coordinate each movement? After a little experimenting i was able to find a song that precisely times my routine from beginning to end, and may be more important than people realize acting like a metronome :)

I have searched almost EVERYWHERE to see someone else do the Cheng Man Ching the same way I did - and this is exactly it!!! Thank you for sharing this. I was never completely sure where my teacher learned the form from. Is this considered the early version or later version of the CMC form??

Hallo Nils, die passend gespielte Sitar gefällt mir sehr gut. Welcher Musiker ist das? Gibt es es von ihm CDs? Schöne Demo. Danke.

I suppose it depends on the purpose, but for a student, seeing only the upper body isn't of much use and doesn't give a sense of the total flow. If there's another version of this, I'd love to see it. Music is, well, irrelevant.

Interesting how many variations there are on Cheng Man Ching's form. Strong, controlled movements but somewhat stiff and little evidence of relaxation and flow.
@jluso112 жыл бұрын
Dear friends But don't you see!This kind of Tai Chi is not Professor Cheng Man Ching way. It hasn't the flavour of his way of doing (not doing) the form.I say that in a complete open and not harmful way . I once met Mr Wang Chin Shih (on the III European Cheng Man Ching Forum) and he is definitively a very nice person.

Whoever filmed this didn’t understand the importance of showing the whole body, from floor to arm length above head. And why classical Indian music for a Chinese-origin skill?
@NilsKlug2 жыл бұрын
Well we filmed with 2 cameras. Somewhere I have the total view. This is part of a dvd we made during the 2nd CMC meeting. My friend who made the dvd cut it this way. There should be videos of Wang on KZbin showing the total view of his form. The music is turkish. We needed live music. I think he did a great job.
