Kathmandu Nepal - Join me on a walk through the city to the famous "monkey temple". I always enjoy walking in a new city, as that gives me an opportunity to actually see something from the city. I was curious to see some local neighborhoods here in Kathmandu, so instead of taking a taxi to the monkey temple, which is officially called Swayambhu, I decided to walk.

Oh my god~ It's so special to see pigeon eggs from the balcony of the hotel room, the environment there must be very good! I watched that clip five times, it is so cute, and I will come back to watch it again and again! In fact, the street food you bought for the children also look like pigeon eggs, haha! Walking through the city to the famous "Monkey Temple" is a great decision as it gives you a better understanding of the city! Haha....indeed hilarious to know your room-mates are two lovely pigeons which laid their eggs on top of the flower pots. Hope the eggs would hatch into lovely birdlings. Awesome walk around the town and neighbourhood, stopping randomly at street food vendors, talking to the locals and enjoying the local vibes. Yeah, you are right, you would have missed all these if you were to take a taxi. Wow, the monkey temple is big..quite a big crowd there. While buying anything, first ask for price and if you feel expensive just walk away, they will try to negotiate with but don't buy it will still be expensive. And most fruits vendor or any street vendors, they usually does to Nepalese people as well.

I think that religion is more part of daily life in Nepal than it is in Europe. Which is why there are so many young people there hanging out and also the reason there are so many shops there (not talking about the tourist souvenirs). It's a lot more lively and human than religious places in Europe.

The "monkey temple" looks like Swayambunath Temple, as i remember, but that's already about 30 years ago (January 1994), when i had been there.

Its compulsory to study english in nepal , in government school we must have english subject, but nowdays 50% government schools are studying English medium . And all the private schools are english medium , there are only one book in nepali literature , all other books are english medium. But we dont have practice to talk english , but 70% nepalese have basic knowledge of english language. Sorry my english is not good , hope you understand what i mean

The scammed price is still cheap compared to what I had paid in Kuala Lumpur.....RM10 (about 286 Nepali rupees) for 6 pieces! It was delicious though!

As a Malaysian that sounds reasonable price for mangoes in Malaysia. I don't think u were cheated. If u convert what u paid in RM to Nepali currency then all will be scammed price. That's a fair local price
