Do you have to have a hot wire connect at both sides to complete the circuit or can it end just before one of the sides and the gate still be hot with just one side connect to the power??

Sorry, probably slightly stupid question, but how exactly do people pass through? Do you take off the handles one by one and lay them on the ground, walk through, and hook them back up?

Hello, yes you would remove the handles, cross through, and reattach the handles. Your other option is to install a cut out switch near the gate that you could flip to cut power to the gate, and then you could just step through.

Good concept but dangerous. My horse got her tail stuck in one and started running pulling the spring gate with her and panicking as she was running throughout her pasture.

We use fencing and bury it shallowly 2ft out from the fence. Predators who want to dig soon find out that it hurts their claws. They won’t dig after that.
