A very close friend of our family has stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. She decided to experiment on her own with the sugar idea. Her cancer has shrunk more since she stopped eating processed sugars than it had on just the chemo and radiation. They really need to do some studies on it! She still eats naturally occurring sugars like fruits and veggies (not honey). She is actually doing surprisingly well for stage 4 metastatic and has lived a few years with it now. She still get incredibly tired (not surprising!) But the cancer hasn't spread further and has actually shrunk since she cut out processed sugars. That's just her story but it is pretty awesome how it has changed the cancer so much!

Seems like it might almost be worth them placing a catheter while she's having this treatment. That way, she can just continue to sleep and not have to wake up.

I think that would be a risk of infection. Even though her getting up for the restroom is painful it is a healthier option in the long run.

They usually won't cath unless absolutely necessary because it can be an infection risk.

Catheters are an infection risk for kids with compromised immune systems unfortunately. It would be so nice to let our kids sleep all night but they end up having to do vitals every 4 hours. My daughter got to where she slept through vitals usually so it wasn’t so bad. :)

Kendall is such a ball of energy, and so strong. She toughs it out and I never have heard her complain. How blessed she is to have father who is “present,” with her all the time, who is such an encouraging and supportive parent. It’s easy to see how much you love her and admire her strength….it’s written all over your face, especially when you talk to her one-on-one! Continue to keep to the faith and hold onto each other.

Looks like they can afford to buy her anything she wants. A child I know who had leukaemia was granted a wish _ she asked for a grand piano which involved chopping up the staircase! She recovered very well

@@98849 I honestly don't know how to kindly respond to your comment. I also am not sure if you have ever had a sick kiddo. Whatever it may look like to you from a 20 minute video, you are NOT seeing the heartache of watching your child go through cancer treatments, much less the tole it takes both financially, physically, and emotionally on the family. Make a Wish is a wonderful organization that takes a child's heartfelt wish and makes it come true in one way or the other. This family, like other families, deserves this opportunity more than you know. I have been a wish granter for 12 going on 13 years now and the joy and happiness in families that I have witnessed is beyond any amount of money. Please consider re reading your comment and know what we see in their vlogs is a small percentage of what their life entails every day making sure their sweet girl and other girls are well taken care of.

I have been feeling little panicked lately if I need to quit sugar, there are reports comming that cancer is increasing specially among younger people and then I have seen many people promote (people with cancer themselves) that sugar feeds cancer and that you shouldn't pretty much eat sugar at all. So made me feel bit calmer that there is no actual science behind it (anyway the human body needs sugar as fuel too). Awesome Kendall isn't terminal (I have heard people say too tgat stage 4 always means the cancer will kill you in the end, ugh so much misinformation), I really believe Kendall can beat this, she's a strong girl.

Beav, you are definitely a girl dad and quite an amizing one. I pray for sweet Kendall daily. I also pray for your family. I went through home schooling with my son back in the day. You are absolutely correct about it providing a sense of normalcy and a distraction. Being blessed wirh an amazing teacher is truely a blessing. Here in Sweet Home Alabama my son's teachers came in during school hours. I think having them come in at the end of the school day, benefits both the student and the teacher. As it allows for more flexibility in managing ongoing doctor appointments. Sending hugs, love and prayers. Appreciate the update and you taking the time to go through questions. Very kind while your focus is your daughter's wellbeing. It sounds like you have a great team on the east coast. Your youngest will of course act out. They often see what we called the "changing of the guard" and that shifts attention or schedule with them. We would have a couple hours just doing something with the youngest weekly. We also found books that generally explained what was happening at their level as a day read. Not true. St Jude does their own thing. They are on the cutting edge doing their own research in house. They have Neuroblastoma treatments different than any other p,ace. I wish they would look into it! They keep doing the same old thing 😩
