I hate that a lot of people view having anxiety and being shy as being “rude”. My parents don’t understand my anxiety (though they say they do) because multiple times after we have met people my parents have told me that the people probably thought I was rude and stuck up. It’s really does suck.

Agreed. None of the Kardashian-Jenner kids (Kim, Kylie, Kendall, Kourtney, Khloe, etc) had no childhood because they were thrust into the spotlight as soon as they were born and Kendall's mentioned how growing up in the spotlight has been both a blessing and a curse for her. I wish them the best, because nobody can convince me that was healthy for them, especially as adolescents.

I struggle with anxiety. And when doctor Ramani said people who tend to struggle with anxiety are people who are in tuned. Who are more aware and notice. I felt it. And it was my first time accepting anxiety as a normal and kind of out of my control thing. In the sense that it's not a weakness. It's not because of me. It has an explanation that is not bad. And it is true for me. I can walk into a room and sense a mood right away. I read people's body languages and hear their words in a different way. Most call it emotional intelligence. My therapist kind of threw it out there that as intelligent people we tend to suffer a little bit more because we are more aware. It was my first time hearing someone say I'm intelligent. It changed my life. I also came across a video on this channel that spoke about truth seeing people. And you mentioned we also tend to struggle with anxiety. It is hard when you see things that others do not see. Your voice is silenced. You are gaslight. It's heartbreaking to think one has to suffer so much for something that is a blessing. But after this video. I embrace my anxiety. So proud of Kendall. Always been a huge fan. And love love love Dr Ramani.

I'm glad Vogue is raising awareness on anxiety but I wish they could go a little bit deeper. Because anxiety has a lot to do with a low self-esteem and the need to be liked by everyone. Competitive and narcissist people also feel anxious when they feel they'll show weakness or imperfection. So, anxiety can be the consequence of a much more complex disorder or problem to solve. It's hard to get over anxiety if you haven't worked on your ego. It takes effort to admit that our mindset can be based on toxic principles.

I noticed this. But this is actually part of her social anxiety. And it works in two ways. firstly when the other person talks she becomes anxious that she might not listen perfectly to them, so she makes those sounds to show she IS listening and understands. secondly because a socially anxious person has anxious thoughts which distract them, so by making those mini agreements with what the person is saying she’s also blocking the anxious thoughts and reminding herself to pay attention. It’s a coping strategy.

May I suggest breathwork/meditation. Anxiety is, in my opinion, due to a sense of danger - which provokes a whirlwind of disparate cycle of incoherent thoughts - in the search of the perfect solution. As a perfect solution is a concept finite in time - it is impossible. By breathing extremely slowly and deeply, you allow yourself a mental break, which will allow you to decipher the real issue (if there's any), and tackle it, one step at a time - in the moment. As you tackle the issue, one step at a time, you witness your ability to be powerful - not powerless. That is, in my opinion, the ultimate goal that we search. And once we are powerful, it is of necessity that we continue practising breathwork to remain available for ONESELF - and not be defined by the concept of one's power - which is a trap.

I agree. And also when you’ve had anxiety for a while, your nervous system is more sensitive, meaning you’re easily put in a fight or flight state. In this state, you can have a short fuse and everything seems triggering. So when she snaps at people, that can be a result of system being super sensitive. Obviously I don’t know her, but when it comes to lashing out on her family, I can see why that would be her reaction. As far as her being rude to other people, take that with a grain of salt. She’s hounded by people constantly. I’m sure I’d be less than friendly as well.

@@Cmonbilly her relationship with her mom is definitely unique though, like her mom was basically managing her as a public personality since she was 8. I think if we as normal people have expectations of how she should behave towards her mom without knowing what that’s like it’s not really fair. Like, she talked about having shortness of breath as a 10 year old and going to her mom, then now realizing that was probably anxiety, you have to wonder if she has resentment towards her mom for that time in her life. Also I do think Kris kind of encouraged her kids to act bratty and over the top sometimes for the cameras, but when you grow up with that it’ll actually become the normal dynamic.

@@AnnaRusseller While you're right in saying Kendall has much less to worry about in her life such as financial issues, resources, etc. anxiety is simply more than being worried about certain things. Anxiety is a *mental illness* that can be caused by a number of issues such as personality type, hormones, genetics, reactions to triggers, traumas or previous events (all of which can muster a different reaction depending on person to person). You say that I fail to understand that underprivileged people may be more vulnerable to day-to-day struggles and systemic consequences; I never acknowledged this yes, but I never dismissed or debunked this fact. I simply said that anxiety; again a *mental illness* , which is caused by more than just worries whether trivial or serious, can in fact affect everyone no matter their background, worries, personal life, struggles, etc. I myself am lucky enough to have never had to worry about when my next meal would be, how I was going to afford to keep a house, etc. but it doesn't mean I don't suffer immensely with anxiety. I do. Because of circumstances/events personal to my own life, character, genetic makeup, etc. and therefore mental state/reaction. Anxiety often brings on worrying. Worrying *is not* anxiety. Comparing the two is ineffective and like comparing apples to oranges.

@@aw3346 In the case you make of undermining- that’s a conclusion a lot of people like to jump to when others think something ought to be acknowledged simultaneously. It’s called intersectionality- and there’s a lot of theory regarding minority status having direct influence on one’s socioeconomic position, etc. Same goes for having a direct influence on one’s mental health. So yah. You can google all this too, there’s a lot of studies.

Honestly knowing that someone like Kendall has this too is improving my life. It's something that I I have also struggled with this for so long and felt like a freak this whole time. People would always comment on how quiet I was or that I seemed uncomfortable and that I should just be myself. Like thanks for the advise, I am TRYING... Honestly this helps me accept myself so much more. I know nobody else that has it except my ex boyfriend and even he would sometimes say that I was "odd". And my brother is the most social butterfly that has ever lived I mean Im happy for him but also I get compared obviously.. Now I know that I'm not weird, I'm just like Kendall and probably a million other really cool people that suffer in silence. I would also never have guessed that she has it, she seems so cool.

I used to have really bad social anxiety. It got so bad i could not have dinner with my family i got so red. I felt like a freak. Its not that bad anymore, I learned that I need to stop avoiding it and just face it. Really uncomfortable, at first. Things that help me: been nice to me, compassionate, and recognize little milestones for example I talk today to an stranger. It doesn’t matter if I got red, or studder just congratulate myself for doing it and slowly increasing the challenge. Remember that it might be uncomfortable but you just have to push through. Just like you do when you are training for a 5k run, you learn to train feeling the sore muscles. Its not nice but eventually it will get better.
