@@amerasian7795 Her mom called and asked them when they were going to release her and asked if they would release her that night or in the morning. The officer said in the morning and she asked for them to call her if they planned to release her that night. She told the officer that this behavior was unusual for her daughter. The police should have taken her to be evaluated at a hospital because everyone was saying she was Speaking and acting odd. The Police didn't care. They dropped the ball. Her mother did what she was supposed to do and called to find out when she would be released. If they weren't going to release her until morning like they said initially then it wouldn't have mattered of her mom went down their because they wouldn't have released her until morning. They should have contacted the mother like she asked them to if they changed their mind about releasing her. The police admitted that She didn't call anyone to get picked up. @SneakySalaXander
@SneakySalaXander 5 жыл бұрын
In some places, if the person is over 18, they have to wait. However, the documentation is prepared and an alert is sent to all cops in that vicinity to be on the lookout whilst on patrol. Unfortunately, a search can’t be done, nor publicly released before those 24 hours. Unless, of course they deem the person worthy of an APB, which they had no reason, as she wasn’t dangerous. If they were to issue a false APB, whomever did so would be in serious trouble, as they’re only set for runaway criminals. This would also be a danger to her, as the ones to arrive are assuming to be in the presence of a criminal, thus potentially getting her killed if she doesn’t comply with their procedure, due to confusion of their supposed “criminal” status.

I had a friend in my teens that mirrors this case so closely. She didn’t get arrested, but was kicked out of Sears store for weird behavior and went missing. She was later found in the desert three days later. They said one more day and she would have died of exposure. Turned out she had a brain tumor that explained her bizarre behavior. She too had written a lot of crazy stuff in her journal on the weeks leading up to her going missing. Makes me wonder if that is what happened to this young lady.

When her mom first called the station and told them how she wasn’t herself, and she’s in an area she doesn’t know and hasn’t heard from her, you’d think they’d send a car out to look for her or check her place out. My theory is her “maryjane” was laced, & she was smoking it before she disappeared which would explain her acting weird before her disappearance. Then maybe she smoked before dinner, and that’s when it all went downhill. Then I do believe the cop seen leaving the station on the camera at the same time she left may have given her a ride to that place the rancher saw her at & dropped her off. Maybe she told him that’s where she lived because she was confused due to the laced “maryjane”. The cops are covering it up because they don’t want to be held accountable for dropping her off at some random place.

Brookiepoo134 I totally believe that the LAPD is trying to cover it up. My first thought was the same, about the laced MJ. That would explain a lot of the behaviors. It may not have even been weed, it could’ve been K2/spice (synthetic marijuana) because that sounds kinda similar to it’s effects. K2 oftentimes causes psychotic symptoms like hallucinations and paranoia. It also affects the bodily functions like the kidneys and heart. That made me think maybe when she was out where her body was found, she took her clothing off (because of the psychotic delusions or perhaps hallucinations may have “told” her to) then her body failed, but that doesn’t explain why the police department would be so negligent and try to cover it up, except maybe for the fact they were trying to deny any responsibility for releasing her in the dead of night.

If she was having a mental breakdown, I can see her death being a tragic accident. Wondering around aimlessly, she might have ended up in the woods, and not thinking clearly, taken off her clothes and laid down. In that state, she easily could have died of exposure or dehydration. The police were clearly negligent. If she wasn’t intoxicated, they should have guessed something was going on and taken her to the hospital. At the very least, made sure she had a ride. Makes me wonder, with such a beautiful girl, if somebody thought they could take advantage of her and get away with it due to her altered mental state. Maybe they realized pretty quickly that it wasn't going to go well for them and it led to her being killed? Just a theory. I've heard stories of sexual assaults taking place against inmates, especially those who are drunk or high or mentally ill and can't defend themselves.

This case is SO upsetting! Mitrice was clearly not okay. I think she had undiagnosed bipolar disorder. I have it and recognized a lot of the oddities in her behavior. Like how she was hiding her cards in her aunts house.. and the writings in her journals that made no sense… this poor girl should not have been let out in the middle of nowhere like that. If she was making no sense at the restaurant etc and she wasn’t actually drunk… come on, there’s something else going on! That was heartless of the police to let her out and not contact her mother like she requested. This case hit me extra hard.. RIP beautiful Mitrice 🥺❤️

I'm usually the first to suspect the cops, but based on my experience with manic folks, I think it's very likely that she died accidentally and the cops were concerned with covering up their negligence. They didn't want to deal with her, so they booted her out with no medical attention or even a ride home. She somehow got to the woods and... Who knows. She fell and got injured and died of exposure, maybe. My only other thought is that she could have stumbled on another marijuana patch and been shot. That's absolutely happened before. Either way, I think they were most likely trying to hide their negligence rather than their own violent crime. But no matter what their involvement truly was, they sure didn't want anyone to be able to prove it.

Sure enough after answering I got the horrible heartwrenching and gut punching news and the sunny sky just started pouring down rain as I cried, just like it did at her funeral. Knowing that your daughter is dead is a F-ed up feeling and 8 years later I'm still heart broken and crying as I write this, but if that "knowing" isn't weird enough, the rain has to be even weirder once you know that her name was Aaliyah Rayne...
